He has to paint to see the future, so he'll see some stuff and not see other stuff. It's an arbitrary distinction, yes, but it's a tool the writers used so that he's not omniscient.

IMO the show would be better if Hiro lost his powers.

Yea, some issues in this episode:

1) Sylar visited Chandra after killing Bryan Davis and taking his telekinesis... he didn't begin taking other powers until after his visit there... yet here he already has a power before visiting Chandra.

2) Linderman and Arthur's story is the only one that fits in without fault.

3) HRG's progression makes no sense.

4) Claire appearing in Meredith's story is kind of retarded... Thompson wanted to capture Claire... why would he let her mother go?

1. I have no idea about the Magic Missle power, so idfk. Iirc, it was only implied that he only had telekinesis. We still don't know why he has telekinesis after the power wipe though.

3. Before they came after Claire, HRG was a douche who bought into what the company did.
4. He thought Meredith was going to go after Claire, but when he learned that Meredith didn't know Claire was still alive he was like "oh nvm"

If he saw himself die anyways, he would have accepted it. He obviously trusted his paintings strongly. Isaac saw himself die, and so he did.

Whether he saw himself die is a null factor, since his paintings always come true.

Only identical twins have identical DNA. Brothers would only have some the same.

There are oh.. about 8.4 million genetic variations possible in humans sharing common parents. So yeah, sometimes a brother and a brother look alike, or look like mom & dad, but more frequently, they're not. Since we reproduce sexually by meiosis and all, it's not like they're exact clones.

You're telling me that a geneticist lacks the ability to tell brothers apart on a genetic level simply because of genetic variation in sibling?

Do you know anything about genetics? Chandra clearly did, since he constructed a list of people with a particular genome in their DNA.

I think if he can isolate a gene that acts as a marker for powers, determining whether two people are related or not should be cakewalk. No different than determining that Claire and Nathan were related.

I did not say he could not. It is a relatively simple matter to determine who is related. However you have to remember that where ever Chandra got his DNA samples, there was apparently a large number of them. He was concerned with finding the mutation or whatever they say is responsible. He was not cross-checking to find relatives. It's a show.

Getting back to the show, I found the preview slightly disturbing. They have already said their powers are genetic. And there have been people having powers for quite a while apparently (hi2u Adam Monroe). So how are they going to say that an eclipse caused their powers. :s
