I think everything will tie in at the end and everyone will agree that although the start was shakey the ending was justified, however we'll still be left in the dark enough to prolong the series for atleast 1 more run.

    Inc obvious episode spoilers.

As far as this episode is concerned, I thought it was interesting and had a number of rivetting moments, and cleared up much of season 1's questions which we never asked. The car crash was a nice twist, and although by season 2 we'd already figured out it was probably a hit by Linderman's corp., it was a nice twist to work in pappi Petrelli.

Obvious next moves: Ando twats Petrelli around the head with the spade, they gtfo to the past, try changing things, shit goes tits up, massive QQing ensues on this thread, I sit back and laugh at how predictable 99% of the posts on this thread have been.

Such a horrible episode, I'd consider it the worst this season so far. They explained useless back-story aside the Angela/Arthur stuff, but even that was pretty predictable. HRG was a total bitch... Oh like we are supposed to care about the Ell putting on show for Sylar to get him to trust her so that the company can watch a ruthless killer. Who cared about Meredith/ Flint back story?
Ever think that maybe they're using this information to set some other stuff up? People keep bitching about how confusing this season is getting - have a little faith. It WILL all make sense by the end of Villains.

They killed African Isaac and now Hiro loses his power and in order to make him forget everything Arthur turns him back into a 10 year old. gggaaaaayyyyyyyy
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't remember Hiro getting any younger or actually losing his power. Its quite possible he'll use his power to escape.

The tie in's to Season 1 were cool and I liked how they did it, but most of that episode I'd consider a filler.

And they already explained numerous times that all these ppl where born w/ powers and not given powers via the eclipse shows on the first episode of season 1. So why is this second eclipse next episode supposed to be such a big deal?n Lets see how rushed everything becomes as they have 6 episodes to have it all make sense lol
They were born with their powers, yes, but the Eclipse clearly has SOMETHING to do with it. For example, maybe it "unlocks" them, causes them to actually start manifesting. Obviously we won't know for certain until next week, but that eclipse is going to do something.

Peter's powers don't work that way: Peter meets some dude and gets all his powers and intuitively knows how to use them. Remember that in order to use anybody's powers at all, Peter needs to not Think about them, but Remember how he Feels about them. Yeah. His powers are listed as Empathic Power Duplication. That means if he wants to fly, he has to Feel how he feels about Nathan and zoom, there he goes. So even if he meets Future Peter and copies every single power, he has no key to unlock them all. He has to remember how he feels about somebody's power and if he's never met that somebody, he's TSOL.

Holy crap, stop capitalizing random words...

Anyway to whoever talked about Hiro becoming a child:

    Spoiler: show

Arthur wipes Hiro's mind all the way back to when he was 10.

But Hiro has always acted like he was 10.

I have a feeling that Hiro will become even more insufferable

btw, I think the reason Sylar didn't lose telekinesis is because he got it twice. The magic missile guy probably was also just telekinetic, he just used it in a different way.

That's not to say that reasoning makes sense, but it does give us a reason why telekinesis is the exception to the no more powers rule

Did they ever state which power Arthur originally had? Does he have absorption and somehow got ahold of Maurey's power?

I feel if they do something dumb like making Hiro lose his memory, it's just going to give us a couple of episodes of wasted time. With 6 episodes left and so many holes still open, its obvious they're setting things up to be the same clusterfuck rush to end the story as the past two seasons have been.

I watch this show because I love the premise and some of the characters, but the writing lately seems like it was made by high schoolers. No clear plan ahead, random fan service, and a ton of retcon because of their mistakes.

Arthur's power is the ability to steal other people's power. Since he's been around with this power for close to 35 years or so, it's safe to say he managed to acquire a good amount of power.

Although I wonder why they showed him with only telepathy.

    Spoiler:
    Spoiler: show

The writers said that Arthur did mess with Hiro's mind but that Usutu is in for a world of trouble soon, so I'm also leaning towards the "Arthur hasn't killed him yet" and that Arthur just did the same thing to Hiro that he did to Angela.

It wasn't until only recently that they were able to track down mutants especially well and, as his power was not well known and he preferred keeping it a secret, he rarely could use it on the powered humans they did find since that information was probably usually shared among them.

So he probably didn't have many powers.

I think the main thing this season is missing is episode cliff hangers. Season 1 had terrific episode cliff hangers and so did a majority of season 2. I watched em both on Blue-Ray over the summer and I couldn't put both seasons down and was often up until 2+ am watching them.

Season three, while episode cliff-hangers are there, just lacks the intensity that the previous seasons manifested so well. I don't think it's because we all know what to expect, or that the heroes formula is getting old, or that nothing can be a surprise from the show anymore since it's not "new..." This season just has a rushed feel and it doesn't allow the very significant event's to build up - they are just thrown at you to digest.

not a full blown spoiler below, just my predictions for "Fugitives:"
    Spoiler: show
I wouldn't be surprised if the death or Arthur (or however they decide to handle him) isn't the biggest climax of this season... I am inclined to think that normal civilians are gonna discover there are ppl w/special powers at the end of the Villians chapter - thus why everyone is on the run during Fugitives since they are now being hunted.

I hope it doesn't turn out like that... but at this point it wouldn't be a big surprise since they were almost unvieled at the start of this season.. and by shooting Nathan Future Peter may have only delayed it from happened & didn't actually prevent it

Since Arthur took all of Peter's powers, he technically doesn't need/can't take Hiro's since he already has it.

It wasn't the eclipse that gave them their powers, they had to get to Lv 30 first to unlock them.

They're making Arthur too strong really. If he gets Hiro's power I seriously can see this becoming a series where the ending is just cheesy as hell because if you think about it realistically, Arthur cannot be stopped once he "gets" Hiro's ability. Though I assume someone will intervene, maybe Ando? : p

We'll see if they have to keep him amnesia'd/knocked out/depowered/hungry/afraid to change things. That's how we know a character is out of hand.

The search to kill Arthur starts next episode.
It's spoiler tagged, but if you havent figured it out already then... well... I don't know how you couldn't know by now lol

    Spoiler: show
    the Hatain.

This spoiler has new info though:
    Spoiler: show
The eclipse strips everyone of their powers, but those who lost their powers (que Maya & Peter) get them back (thus Peter gets his powers back but starts at lv 1)

I'm guessing somehow Hiro escapes from Arthur, and I can't think of anything else... Usually it's sort of easy to predict what will happen in the next episode, but I can't this time. Arthur does seem too powerful but:

    Spoiler: show
Maybe Peter gets his ability back and takes Arthur's ability, then with Arthur's 'take ability' ability, steals all of Arthur's powers? This seems like something that would happen.

Arthur is indeed frustratingly powerful, kind of like X-Men's Rogue without the nasty physio-/psychological side-effects.

What I find interesting is Arthur's innate ability to control the powers as soon as he takes them. But then, we've yet to see him at all distressed, and all it would take is for someone to really shit in his corn flakes for him to manifest Maya's death pheromone, or Ted's nuclear meltdown.

But, I digress. Arthur's near-unstoppable power and apparently sharp strategy is perfect for building up frustration and anticipation in the viewer. I'm personally starting to get irked at his hacked powers(and suddenly appreciating why Rogue was never "cured"), but just itching to see what finally brings him down.
    Spoiler: show
The Haitian should have been such an obvious answer, I was pissed when they presented him and I hadn't thought of it. I'm still hoping for a revisit of the "Special Killing" virus, particularly the strain that removed Sylar's powers. Much story could be derived from recreating the virus to stop Arthur, only to see it mutate and and threaten everyone with a future crisis they'd thought averted.

But by removing Hiro's powers, Arthur has also removed whatever threat Hiro posed to him.
