And I'd assume Arthur's death gave everyone (least in the present) their powers back... Why else did he glow all funky style once killed, and they avoided showing it this episode since it was the last scene w/ peter in it.

Pretty sure that was just the catalyst dissipating since that same light was shown when the catalyst was given to Hiro.

Overall I think I liked the episode... I don't like how they didn't explain what the hell is up with the catalyst. Did they even explain why Claire wanted it out of herself so badly? Claire losing it and Hiro gaining it seemed to have no effect on either, so the whole thing seemed pointless to me.

Personally, I wish they'd work on improving other characters instead of running around nerfing everyone. I'm going to have a really hard time with Nathan as a villain... really don't like the character.

Next episode, Spider-Man saves Hiro and they both go battle Red Hulks with Seth Green, who is secretly Batman in this reality. It'll rerail EVERYTHING until Season 4

I thought the Hiro scene with his mom was one of the best scenes of this series. I loved it. This episode was great for 45 minutes and terrible in the last 15.

The glowing light is the catalyst disappearing or rather "dying". IIRC, earlier episodes either Arthur or Angela mentioned that if someone who's carrying the catalyst dies, the catalyst will also dies with them--which bring us back to Sylar knowing that there's something special about Claire other than her healing power and that explains why Sylar was all "Claire, I can't kill you. You're special. etc..." after he opens her brain and examine it.

The bird dead in the cage, very reminiscent of the bird that died at Micah's feet when he was looking out the window at his stepdad's house. I wonder what it means...they wouldn't do that twice for no reason.

Wrong show buddy. Micah never had a stepdad, DL's been his father. You're thinking of LOST. In Lost, Walt had a weird phenomena and when he looked out of his window at his stepdad's house, a bird flew and died @ the window.

Gosh way to indirectly do the whole "black people look the same" stunt!

Hiro's Mum was most likely kept alive by the catalyst, by transferring that to Hiro, she passed away.

The Hatians power has two modes (kinda like Parkman has two modes). One is an Aura mode that will disable powers within a certain distance all around him, one big sphere. This mode will work for most people but is not as strong as mode 2.

Mode 2 is a single target deal and takes a lot more out of him (hence why he was looking like he was struggling). He had to use Mode 2 on Papa P because he was so powerful.

Definitely not true. The Hatian just being in the theatre disabled Daphne and Hiro's powers in the episode where they stole the formula and he didn't even know they were there.

The thought of the Haitian doing single target >> multi-target makes me think of Scholar's Manifestation strategem... I've really been playing Scholar too much, lol. (And watching too much Heroes)

This. Obviously the Haitian goes around almost permanently with his weaker, no-powers field, (so no one can get the jump on him with fire or something) but can refine it to single target if he has powered allies or if the target is super-duper strong.

The screen when Hiro met his mother she healed him. I really thought the writers realized their errors and were finally back on track. A multi layered story where the young Hiro took the catalyst and would grow up as a responsible man and become the bad-ass that we saw on the subway back in season one.

I even had thoughts that they would re-do the “save the cheerleader”/peter explosion arc, only this time with Hiro as the protagonist instead of Claire.

And then Mrs. Sulu gave the catalyst to the old Hiro. Ok, that could still work. And then Mr. Petrelli comes out of nowhere and steals it and leaves Hiro as a helpless idiot hanging from the building.

I realized at that point that Heroes will never reach its potential; it will always be a show that could have been great.

Arthur got rid of the Catalyst when he transfered it into the formula (least that was what I thought) as Hiro's mom already proved it can be transfered from host to host freely. So I'm still sceptical that the light they showed when Arthur died (yes, it looked like the catalyst) was just that dissipating.

to anyone wondering about hiro and the catalyst - you're forgetting that this is a show where story arcs and plot developments last about as long as characters with new powers. for example... the haitian has trouble nullifying powers when he never had that problem with arthur before.... elle and sylar... the hunger... sylar not killing the haitian... the eclipse... maury... adam...

the heroes writers are the masters of creating stories that either go nowhere or have an anticllimactic ending. why didn't mohinder cure himself first? where is knox? come on...

They showed Knox & Flint! They were hanging back in the corridor leading to the military men. Both had a pissed off look on their face and were leaning back against the wall w/ their arms folded.

I'd be pissed also if I got written out of the 2nd to last episode of an arc and had to be satsified w/ a walk on role (lol)

I actually think they wrote things with the Haitian pretty well overall. I'm pretty sure his power has to be switched on to some degree. As far as the movie theater scene, I thought their powers were fine until he realized someone was there. Then again, if he thought some shit was going to go down he might have just had it on. As far as him not having a problem with Arthur before, that's easy. Arthur was a shit-ton more powerful this time around.

I loved the sequence with Hiro and his mother as well. They had to get the catalyst to Arthur somehow and the way they did it really makes the most sense. I don't think he ever knew what the source was except that Kaito had something to do with it.

I liked Gabriel a lot more than Sylar through the season, but I really liked the Sylar scenes last night. The elevator scene was awesome. I also liked that he was the one to kill Arthur instead of Peter.
