Maybe because it's been one of the most memorable lines in almost 2 seasons?

From the IGN review of this episode:

"Claire took a similar journey in this episode, though to a lesser extent. She, too, connected with her younger parents. Her role, however, was a bit more cliched, as she used the opportunity to foreshadow how much her parents will mean to her. I did like the fact that the scene with Claire convincing her father not to take the call from The Company stayed subtle. Through Claire's passionate plea and Mr. Bennett's knowing look, you could figure out that Bennett knew who he was talking to and that Claire knew that her dad knew. And for once, the show left it at that."

Uh, was I the only one who didn't get that impression at all? I didn't think for a second that Noah knew he was talking to Claire from the future... just that at that point in Noah's life with the company, he wasn't fully a "company man" yet and the thought of having a daughter who would grow up to love him touched him.

I was under the impression he knew it was future Claire, iirc: he looked at the babies eyes then looked at Claire's, and saw how similar they were, and pieced it all together.

I was under the impression that he knew. He could tell by how passionate she was about the situation.

I also got the feeling that he knew... I mean, he flat out asked her if he was one of "them" (i.e. special). With her telling him all of that information I'm pretty sure he knew she was from the future somehow... and not only that, with her reassurance that he was going to be just fine and that he needed to protect her at all costs... he would have pieced it together easily.

Remember, folks, the less super powers you have in Heroes the smarter you are.

I actually think you can reason there to be very few and possibly no plot holes after this episode.

First issue: Arthur showing up where he did. You can reason this out as either that's where his painting powers took him OR that is the best time to step in and take the catalyst without ruining the current timeline. If Arthur wants his plan to work out he cannot have time be altered drastically, right?

Second issue: Sylar killing Elle. I can say two reasons. First being the hunger. Second being the fact that Elle has been fucking with him. This wasn't exactly focused on at all, but she was with the company when they had their first little fling, she played along with him being a Petrelli and was lying to him about it with Bennett. She's been playing mindgames with him for quite some time, that's worthy of death by Sylar.

Third issue: Haitan powers. Think of it like arm wrestling. It's even for a while, both sides are stressing about it, one wins. But they can both go for another round right away. I'm a fan of the weak aura + strong focus theory. But you can also go with the haitan having power detection (Arthur seems to) and can apply his aura like that.

Fourth issue: The bullet that killed Arthur: Sylar stopped it. The only thing I'm not certain of is Peter's cut, but I think it could be reasoned that Sylar did this to get Peter to shoot (reaction to physical pain = auto-trigger pull?). Or like my 3rd issue explains, Arthur got his powers back for a second but the interruption from Sylar let the haitain get his powers back.

Fifth issue: The haitan leaving Arthur after the bullet hit. Sylar put it in the right place in the brain. Arthur won't be able to revive until it's moved.

Sixth issue: Claire not wanting the catalyst. I think she is back to wanting to be normal, so being the target of an entire supervillain company isn't a good way for that to happen.

Seventh issue: Sylar's power. He doesn't need to kill, Elle showed that. But he enjoys killing, so he does it, Elle showed that too. He may also not be able to pick up everything about the powers just doing it randomly, but by evaluating the brain he can do so. Possibly someone would need to explain most of it to him for him to take without a kill. Elle's was pretty damn obvious to figure out...

I thought things worked out fairly well. I had to think things through (and get ideas reading these posts) to work it all out to make sense to me, but I thought there were a good number of tie-ins from earlier. It's possible Kaito figures out Hiro time travels now (since he seemed to know of this earlier). I'm interested in how they move Sylar on from here. Will he go back to just hunting down random people with powers? Will there be a more serious attempt to make him good? Angela is still alive, maybe she'll make an attempt and have some new way to get him to not kill her?

Oh yeah and about both Petrelli's trying to make Sylar their son, it's possible they knew of Sylar for a while, it was showed the company knew about him for some time and with knowing how dangerous he could become (and possibly already had, I'm not 100% on all the timeline for this) they made a plan of how to counter him, which was psychologically.

    Spoiler: show

Lex Luthor's dad has been cast to play Sylar's father.

Also, it isn't necessarily true that just because Arthur isn't Sylar's father that Angela isn't Sylar's mother.

His head had a puddle of blood around it with no visible trail from the front of his head, meaning the bullet penetrated both sides of the skull. No bullet.

However, to date none of our 'invincible' people have been pierced directly through the center of the head like that; the closest has been Claire, with the tree branch through the base of the skull. Angela herself said that's how you stop one of them, a bullet square through the forehead.

I hear Maury Povich is a guest star in the next episode.

As for the whole Arthur death thing, if there is a way to kill a healer, Sylar would know from looking at Claire. If there isn't a way, Sylar would have known that as well. Since he said he was killing Arthur, it's safe to say there is a way to kill Arthur, and that Sylar did it.

Edit: But then again, that wouldn't explain why he said he couldn't kill Claire. It clearly had nothing to do with her having the catalysts since she never got the catalysts. Pime Taradox, etc.

My thoughts on the previous episode

    - I dislike how they killed Arthur off so lamely, I liked his acting and would of enjoyed seeing his arc last for awhile.

    - Having Elle killed off kinda sucks too, I had grown fond of her character, I would of preferred seeing any of the other blonds nix'd besides her.

-The woman who played Hiro's mom did a pretty good job, I enjoyed the whole meeting your parents theme, always love a scene with Gorge Takei.

    - I'm getting tired of all the Sylar/Gaberial flip-flops, of course its expected to happen, but it just seems he is going from bad to good to bad again in the space of a few episodes, make up your damn mind.

    - Will they ever call "The Haitien" by his @%!$ name? Dicks..

I'm really hoping that the next season will be a turn for the series, this season had its moments but all in all was rather "meh" to me.

I actually liked the scene w/ the haitain and Arthur. It was the first time it actually showed that the Hiatain has to focus his powers and before I figured it was always a passive ability. Was also interesting in how much trouble he was having controlling Arthur... They might have just altered how the Haitan uses his powers for that scene (and the rest of the series), or it coulda been that Arthur was so powerful he had to focus his powers

Speculation: just because he said he "couldn't" does not mean its not possible. It could just as easily meant couldn't as in "I couldn't bring myself to kill Claire" for some reason or another.

But didn't he say he couldn't kill her even if he wanted to?

Wouldn't leaving Hiro in the past, with knowledge of what happened (and will happen) drastically alter the timeline? Maybe he thought he killed him when he threw him off the roof, but you think he'd take a little extra care.

Even if its something Arthur didn't account for, you'd think the present Arthur returned to would be different anyway. Afterall, Hiro (once rescued off the pole outside) can tell his dad what's going to happen, and tell Angela that Arthur isn't really going to die when she thinks, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Didnt the previews show Hiro's dad attacking him with a sword?
