What's happened so far:

Present Peter and Parkman were sent away my future Peter. It's possible that future Peter was able to force present Peter to change shape and then teleported him to level 5, which puts him into rooms that make it so you cannot use your powers (right?) and thus the guy in the basement shouting is the now powerless present Peter stuck in a different form.

All of Peter thus far, then, has been future Peter. He apologized to Nathan for shooting him. Now Peter is acting like future Hiro of season 1 and obsessing over fixing the past.

Mohinder is now spiderman, I think it'll be ok as long as it's not a complete copy (by that I mean he doesn't get spidey sense, then it'd be WAY too much of a copy, him being a scientist and all).

As Mrs. Petrelli told future Peter, it's the Butterfly Effect. If you saw the movie it's that concept. Future Peter coming back to fix one problem screws up even more, because present Peter would've let Claire come to NY and then Claire would not have been home to let Sylar get her power. This now makes Sylar indestructible and with the knowledge of level 5 (because of course secretive HRG would keep an open box in his kitchen with super top secret stuff) and he can go to either get all their powers or become their leader (the supervillain with the most power generally leads) and make Mrs. Petrelli's dream come true.

Suresh mentioned having heightened senses so "spider sense" is definitely a reality and it won't be long before we see it, I think.

Forgot about Elle, Maya took the spot from Elle, but only until she says something slightly masochistic in that extremely cute tone she uses so often.

Eaglestrike, I think you got it right and that fixes my confusion. So all the peter we're seeing is the future Peter, totally forgot that scene with him transfigured in level 5.

The point is, he should just go back again and not fuck up this time. It's a glaring plot hole no matter how you view it, if he's able to go back from the future, then he should be able to go back again. As far as we know there is no "cooldown" on his "oops I fucked shit up, let's reverse a little bit" power.

I was really scared that we were going to lose Elle for a second there, like really fucking scared. When Sylar said "I got that from your Claire" that was fucking epic. Poor HRG.

Elle's freak out will now break all the cells open. This lets Peter come out to fight off Sylar (it'll be a tie and one/both simply flee) and lets out the other evil bad guys of level 5.

HRG will magically survive despite being right next to a huge blast of electricity. I guess they can pull out the whole Claire's blood thing.

Here's to hoping for at least a decently lengthy Sylar/Peter fight with some decent usage of powers.
