POL viewer connection problems. can anyone help?

I keep having this problem when logging in. When it gets to Retrieving Friend List Data, it just hangs. The little blue bar gets to about 20% but no further. Then I get a POL-0260 error. I have tried rebooting router but that isn't helping. I've been doing that for the past 40 minutes.

Also, when I get to the FFXI login screen, where you select your character, it often hangs on "Disconnecting from Lobby Server". Then the only way to get out of it is to do a ctrl_alt_del and restart POL. Often I have to do that several times before it finally lets me on to FFXI.

The first problem is a recent development, but the second I've been having for months.

Are you in the UK? It sounds like the recurring nation-wide connection problem we've been getting from time to time, though I can't log in right now myself to check. If this is the case it usually gets fixed within a few hours.

I've been having the same problem too, Revenant. POL has been sluggish for me since I tried to get on an hour ago. I've been unable to reach the FFXI screen at all before getting bounced back by an error.
I'm in the U.S. though, using TDS metrocom. Possibly unrelated, but it seemed strange since the only other time this has happened is when my area has been hit by bad weather.

im having same problem, gives me pol 1160 and says im not connected to internet but i am.. if anyone could help would be much appreciated
