External HD Case Question

My girlfriends external HD won't power up, I'm guessing it's just the case and some crappy circuit board in there that handles the power. I don't have the manual and the maxtor site isn't helping much... what I need to know is if it's an IDE or SATA connection in there. It's a Maxtor One touch POS, 500 MB I want to say. Yeah, I can just take it apart when I get home, but if I knew right now I could go ahead and order a case before I forget for another 2 weeks. Figured someone like Moots might know right offhand.

95% of the time those drives are IDE. You can pretty much bank on it being IDE especially if its a cheap, older model.
