I thought it was ok, I liked it better than the xmen movie. Then again, I ain't no comic book nerd.

I hadn't heard of The Watchmen before the announcement of this movie way back when. I'd never really been a fan of DC since I never had time to read and catch up on their stories, but I came out with a new appreciation for it. I can say I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and would recommend it.

Coming from a guy who recently read the comic the movie was OK nothing amazing I'd say if you must see Watchmen get the Watchmen motion picture comic (Blue-ray) than seeing the Movie

I was pretty impressed by the movie. With some exceptions, DC movies seem to do a better job with paralleling their comics without sacrificing or regurgitating the story. Looking forward to seeing Sandman and Kingdom Come eventually going into production one day.

Zack Snyder spends entirely too much time in slow-motion. I get that he's trying to recreate a tableau from the source material once in a while, but often it's just trying too hard and dragging out a scene that really shouldn't last very long. More often than not it seems like the time wasted putting everything into slow motion could have been better spent fleshing out critical characters like Veidt.

After finishing the graphic novel, I'd say I enjoyed watching the movie more. The story makes more sense in the novel, but I think it works for both. I probably prefer the movie just because of my enjoyment of movies more than reading. I think it was a good adaptation, a lot of small things were altered, but the story still fits, the characters are still close to how they're originally shown and all the major events happen with the ending being an exception and a few minor things being left out.

I also think the scene with Rorshach/Nite Owl/Ozymandias at the end was cooler in the movie, more action, expressed better and the novel it mostly seemed to be him talking after a couple attempts at fighting.

For the most part I really enjoyed it, and haven't read the the GN yet. The only thing that really surprised me is the amount of blue penis that was showed. Surprised in the fact that they got a R rating with it.

At the scene just be the child murderer comes home to Rorshach, some little kids (looked like 5 and 7) came running in to sit with mommy and daddy since their movie was over. Laughed a little at that. L2check movie run times. . .

There was a couple in the showing before us that had 3 kids with them. I would say the oldest kid was probably 9.

Agreed... I always get a little embarassed when I see sex/gore scenes like that and see little Johhny who can't be more than 8 years old sitting next to mommy and daddy. Really burns me. Movie Was pretty good though!

People like to think that... doesn't mean you are right. Also playboy is a bit different from rape, explicit violence, and nihilism.
