Actually he can see the future, but can't change it.

He goes over that while talking to Laurie.

"Wait, you know about me and (forgot Owls name >.<)?"
'You tell me in a few minutes, I get angry, etc.'
"What, if you already know, why do you get mad?"
'I can see things that have happened, that will happen, they are all the same to me, I cannot change them. They already exist.' or something along those lines.


The tachyon interference would be like... trying to read a newspaper while walking into a strong wind.

It shows really clearly in the GN, after he ports himself and Laurie out there, he says "Just a second Rorschach, I'm explaining this to Laurie 90 seconds ago."

Then he says some more to her, disappears into the building.

Rorschach starts to say something, and he says "Just a second Rorschach, I'm explaining this to Laurie 90 seconds ago."

We saw two instances of the event, he saw one.

Time is weird like that.

Also, The Comedian was a supersoldier, a la Captain America, he didn't have super powers, but he wasn't your average joe by far. He's like 80 in the later parts of the movie.

I like the newspaper analogy, that's practically spot on. In this scenario it's different, but overall that was what it was like for John (mostly on Mars).

Also, I never made that parallel with Adrian and the guy in the Black Freighter (mainly because I never saw Adrian as a true, bird eating monster, but you are right in a metaphorical sense).

The only thing I didn't like was the music choice, I felt the rest was a great portrayal, the ending was a bit annoying though. Especially since his catching bullets and being superhuman strong went entirely unexplained whereas in the novel I believe he at least acknowledged he did something to gain those feats.

Maguspk- I dunno... It's a super hero movie, though. Even in something gritty like Watchmen, we accept exaggeration like the heroes being able to punch walls, etc. Whether its a literal superpower in the way that Superman is superhuman, or one gained through skill/training a la Batman, we all understand and accept that these things are reasonable, and will exist in this context. We've seen it before, so we don't really need to waste time explaining how specifically he got these powers. I liked that the movie didn't feel the need to treat the audience as new comers to the genre.

Well I was more thinking of the part where he punched through that mantle thing, which seemed like concrete or something.
