A movie like Watchmen needs an original score.
Could you imagine Lord of the Rings with Leonard Nimoy's Ballad of Bilbo Baggins?

Just watched it, can't say i hate it but can't say i love it either. It felt sort of disconnected at times and it made me feel like i was trying to catch up to it instead of it taking me along. As for the blue penis, i'm kind of surprised anyone noticed it.
I saw this movie the second night after it came out on the imax screen, thought it was awesome! My bf said it was too complicated and didn't like it as much, but I disagree, and I've never even read the comic![]()
OK so I just finished reading the Watchmen novel, and I have to say that I'm really very impressed about how true to the novel the movie's screenplay stayed. Even with the change in the ending, and some details being adjusted or left out or enhanced as only Hollywood can, I felt the movie followed the book much more than any movie adaptation I'd seen in a very long time.
And my misgivings about Pat Wilson's job playing Dan are gone as well. When I saw the movie I thought he was horribly wooden and restrained. Now I realize that it was deliberate - because Dan himself is that restrained, until compelled to unrestrain himself in response to something. If anything, the Hollywood treatment made this difference between Dan's unleashed emotions more visible by showing him breaking limbs and that ridiculous dragged out sex scene after the fire rescue.
