What's the terminology mean? I assume an 'issue' is one chapter like 20-40 pages, or is it a collection of chapters or something? The comics would be online under the name "The Watchmen" right? It sounds pretty short if an issue is just a chapter, definitely manageable.
I'd say about 30 pages of comic, then additional materials (excerpt from a book written by a character, interview with a character, other stuff of that nature to give you another look into the world). It's very manageable in a day or two, depending on your level of free time.
Dr. Manhattan = Epic Win
Seeing it on IMAX after I reread the book, yes the trailer was full of 'wow, I can't believe they just showed THAT part' moments.
Semi-Spoiler, doesn't explain anything.
The only time Ozymandias is in front of a row of TV's is when he's explaining whats already been done, like someone else mentioned.
Also, Lori on the glass ship thing was in her SS costume, which she wasn't in the book. I hope the ending is much more...fluid than the book.
Spoiler: show
I found a copy at work. Pretty decent size book so i'm assuming it's all the chapters. I was thinking about getting it, but was kind of deciding between that and The Killing Joke. Was pretty torn, so ended up saving my money...for now.
Spoiler: show
Ah, ok. I dislike her ultra spandex.![]()
I don't really like much about her. I mean, I understand her characters purpose and all, but at the same time she just kind of rubs me the wrong way. And her costume in the movie just looks terrible. She gets a ton of screen time in the trailer, and Rorschach, who is pretty much the main character, as much as there is one, gets about 5 seconds.
Basically, yeah, each issue is a chapter, and there are 12. It does not tie into the DC universe, you read the collected graphic novel (Amazon says 416 pages), or those 12 issues, and that's it. That's the story. What's the terminology mean? I assume an 'issue' is one chapter like 20-40 pages, or is it a collection of chapters or something? If you want to read it, you could just as well order it from Amazon, where it costs a whopping $10.99.
Wow bad news from the comic-con panel...
Like, Veidt's parents becoming Nazis and talk of dropping some scenes for more action.
EDIT: Oh, and the worst part about the Veidt's part: he will speak english in public and with a german accent with the Watchmen. Wut.
Veidt is a German name from what I gather. I don't know what's up with the accent switching though. 'AHA MEIN LITTEL VATCHMEN YOU DID NOT EXPEKT A GERMAN!'
I don't see it. Maybe they're making old Ozy speak with the accent while 'new' Ozy doesn't?
Really, they should have just cast Veidt as someone else. The actors doesn't really fit and doesn't seem to give a shit. Like if anyone didn't like Veidt in the original trailer, I bet they really hate him now.
You know I know nothing about "The Watchmen" never heard of it, never seen it, doesn't even look interesting to me other then it might be a decent action flick but I will say this,...
The artistic style this movie is done in just from the preview brings me in like a dog after a steak.
The movie could suck but if the entire movie has that style of effects I will enjoy it.
And I didn't look but did someone post the link to the comic? I would like to read it to catch up on it so I can go into this movie with an idea of wtf is goin on.
I don't think anybody's posted a link. The print edition costs 10 bucks at a bookstore and Watchmen deserves to be read over a weekend since it's so dense.
Is anyone else worried about how they're going to handle this movie? I mean, with them changing stuff about Veidt, the fact that no one seems to be caring about Rorschach who isn't a fan of the book already, and he is one of the most central figures in the whole story. A lot of the characters were a bit out of shape due to years of inactivity, but everyone looks all trim and fit. It just seems like there are some warning signs that this could get properly cocked up.
Veidt was poorly casted. I think now is the best time to get over it. If he turns out good, then cool. But the guy playing him doesn't seem to give a shit.
The guy playing Veidt looks like a god damned carney. 5'3 and 110 lbs soak and wet. What the fuck. Oh, and read the novel. It was remarkable.
Edit: Have they shown that cat yet? I want to see the cat.
