[Correction]

Let's get one thing fairly straight about Watchmen; It's set in a period of time when almost all the costumed vigilantes are well past their prime and living in forced retirement. The only ones still at the peak of their game are Veidt (who uses brain > brawn) and Dr. Manhattan (who is functionally immortal). Arguably Rorschach is in decent shape since he never retired but he's also more of a detective than a brawler.

So yeah no complaints about puny guys. This isn't Hellboy, or The Hulk.

even if i had never read or heard of the graphic novel i would think the trailer was amazing. i can understand the confusion to someone about how night owl looks, but the music and dark feeling the trailer has makes it look like a bad ass flick regardless.

also, just got my copy of the graphic novel in. it looks like a good print, good paper. I guess it's the original art but it looks pretty good for mid-80s style. 11 bucks on amazon.

Film studio Twentieth Century Fox has applied to a Los Angeles court to block the release of Watchmen, based on the comic books written by Alan Moore.

Fox, which says it bought film rights to the series in the 1980s, has been given the go-ahead to launch an injunction against rival Warner Bros.

"We respectfully disagree with Fox's position and do not believe they have any rights," a Warners spokesman said.

Fox said it "will be asking the court to enforce our copyright interests".

The movie, about flawed superheroes, has already been filmed and was due for release 6 March.

It stars Patrick Wilson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan and is directed by Zack Snyder, who made hit movie 300.

Last week US District Court Judge Gary Feess said Fox could hold some of the rights to the material, even if it did not hold all rights.

Fox spokesman Gregg Brilliant said it planned to stop the release of the movie and "any related Watchmen media that violate our copyright interests in that property".

His Warner Bros counterpart, Scott Rowe, said: "The judge did not opine at all on the merits, other than to conclude that Fox satisfied the pending requirements."

Yeah but in the comic he is still much larger than those around him, compare his neck to anyone he's standing next to. I'll grant thats more likely due to art style and less character, but it's going to be distracting seeing him as skinny AND short, god help if he has a stupid voice (I don't know what the actor sounds like)

The emphasis is that Veidt is meant to seem unthreatening and entirely neutral throughout the book. If they can pull that off without turning him into a complete fairy I don't care what his build is.

Specifically, that the ending won't involve an exploding giant squid used as a psychic bomb. And honestly, I'm okay with that because I had a bit of a hard time dealing with a giant psychic squid as the instrument of Ozymandus' plans to save the world from nuclear destruction.

I thought that the giant psychic squid bomb was great. Such a shocking wtf scene with tentacles & dead people everywhere. I really hope it's not removed from the movie. It was specifiaclly used to make people think there was some sort of failed alien invasion so as to unite the US & USSR, all planned by Ozymandias.

Clearly wearing armor, so that makes him Ozy. Just hard to tell where/when. Looks like he just pushed a button though.
