Agreed. Not so sure I'm impressed with the Silk Spectre's acting, though. Or maybe I just can't look at her without seeing Freak Show's wife.

I'm worried that Silk Spectre II (Laurie) will just be turned into some generic ass-kicking action girl and not driven by frustration and loss she feels with/about Dr. Manhattan.

Out of all the costume changes, I think the Nite Owl's looks best. The Ozymandus redesign really puts me off, but I guess we will just have to wait and see how it turns out on the big screen.

As for Crudup's voice, I'm sure that he walked a fine line between being emotive and neutral in his voicing and acting of Dr. Manhattan. Having him speak in a very flat or unemotional tone just makes him a naked Mr. Spock - not good.

The emphasis is that Veidt is meant to seem unthreatening and entirely neutral throughout the book. If they can pull that off without turning him into a complete fairy I don't care what his build is.

I disagree. Veidt was very well built in the book, hence the emphasis at the very beginning when the police were investigating the murder of the Comedian and their talk of how it would have taken more than one person to have thrown such a large man from the window, also exhibit B - the 'Veidt Method' advertised in the magazines such as the Black Freighter comic book which was a play on training regimes such as the Atlas bodybuilding plans that used to find their way into similar rl publications.

Why is Rorschach's mask changing like that? :/

It's supposed to? The comic describes it as a fabric with liquid that never mixes, black and white, moving in between two layers that contain it. He steals it from where he used to work and makes it his mask. The comic makes repeated use of several 'faces' Rorschach makes at certain reveals during the story arc, as well. The mask is definitely not static.

I was under the impression that it was just spotted cloth that the owner didn't want cause it was ugly. Not magical tomfoolery. I didn't finish the comic but I do remember reading that (minus the moving between two layers part)... never noticed his mask changing in the illustrations either though.

First song is by the Phillip Glass Orchestra and is in the soundtrack for the movie Koyaanisqatsi. Much better song.

The face changed in the illustrations quite frequently and as described above, when Rorschach is telling the Kitty Genovese story, he talks about how the fabric was a new creation as a by-product of one of Dr Manhattan's experiments/discoveries and that it moved like liquid to create different patterns but never mixed.

Hmm, I'm too lazy to read this whole thread, anyone willing to point me to where I can read the comics and such online? Or is anyone willing to explain the plot to someone that knows absolutely nothing about it? It looks interesting, but the discussion I've heard about it just makes me go "wtf?"

Something I've been wondering for a while -

The last couple times I've read through the comic, I can't seem to remember where Rorschah's line is (The world will look up and shout "save us..."). He says something similar on the very first page...but I can't seem to remember the exact wording being anywhere else in the novel. Anyone know exactly where it is?
