Recommend me some horror movies!

[Treciont]

High Tension

not very well known (i think) but i really enjoyed it.

some old skool movies that i would recommend would be
Hell raiser
Phantasm
Night of the living dead (1968 version)

and of course
Evil dead
Evil dead 2
Army of Darkness

[Snowknight26]

The Gingerdead Man - Evil never tasted so good.

[Afrohatch]

If you want scary and fucked up, check out Cannibal Holocaust. Others I like are May,(not really a SCARY movie, but the ending scene gave me some fkking chills), Signs(again, some creepy stuff), original and new Dawn of the Dead, both kicked ass. I'm sure I'll think of more and keep adding to this XD

if u want something scary try korean horror

korean horror > american horror

Why has no one mentioned an of the 28 days/weeks later movies? Those are amazing.

Also Day of the Dead was awesome imo.

[Nightbreed]

High Tension was an awesome movie.
Tale of Two Sisters
Shutter - NOT THE AMERICAN VERSION
The Shining

[Trichocyst]

Not entirely horror. Mixed in some gore, exploitation:

Suspiria (amazing use of music)
Zombi (Shark vs. Zombie!)
They Live!
The Devil's Rain (Shatner, Skerret, Borgnine, ridiculous)
Maniac!
Pumpkinhead
Nightmare in a Damaged Brain
Massacre at Central High
Ichi the Killer
Cannibal Holocaust

[Nystul]

I thought ichi the killer was boring and silly. With around 30min left the disc started skipping. I took it out and cleaned it and realized that putting it back in and finding where I left off was more work than I was willing to put in so I didn't even bother finishing it.

I'll agree that 28 days/weeks later were pretty solid. I thought the two rob zombie movies (House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects) were good, but they aren't really "scary" so much as they are disturbing.

And yea The Shining is probably my favorite horror movie. Carpenter's The Thing is great too.

[Furtwangler]

how about The Ring

[Saphirea]

Ben Affleck's da bomb in Phantoms

Beat me too it.

The Shining

I can't remember anymore right now, but I have a whole list of them somewhere.

[Turin]
