'Fuzzy' Graphics

Hi guys. I recently re-installed FFXI due to the fact that I had to re-install Windows XP, and... I swear it doesn't look like it used to. The opening scenes are very... fuzzy. Not a good fuzzy either. Not only that, but text that was once very clear is very pixelated the farther away I get. Am I crazy, or is this wrong?

I updated by video card drivers to the latest GeForce 8600 ones, but it didn't make a difference. I even downgraded them to the drivers I found here: http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/showt...ghlight=driver Nothing helps.

Did FFXI always look like this? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might fix this? I really hate this 'new' look.

Did you modify any registry numbers that you forgot about on the previous install? There was a 3rd party tool that tweaked graphics for you but the WS is gone it seems. Overall your graphics to me look like normal untweaked graphics.

I don't think I did any registry modifications... maybe I did. I just feel like everything is so fuzzy. I don't use 3rd party tools though.

You probably just need to go into the FFXI config file and change your settings back to how they were.

C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ToolsUS\FINAL FANTASY XI Config.exe

That is usually due to FFXI Config settings.

Are you possibly just running at a lower resolution than before? Did you tweak your graphics before and not now?
