New POL update stops passwords working

That method doesn't work because even though I have it saved, it's clearly not using that password. Mine is ******* and the login password thing displays ****.

iirc it won't ever show the actual number of characters in the password

I have my password saved and was unable to login by selecting my username from the list at the start. However, once I quit POL and restarted it, autologin worked just fine.

This happened to me yesterday afternoon aroun 1p est 17 july. I just got account back from game recovery like a week ago so you know i was shitting bricks. I called in and got password changed and I was able to get on at home and when i went to work last night. the save password thing didnt work for me.

nvm tried it agian and worked forr me unless they fixed the issue.

Cool we get that it works for SOME PEOPLE. But clearly it isn't working for ALL PEOPLE. Can't call it a fix if it doesn't work for all cases.

I'm more interested in updates from SE than people saying if this little trick worked. Also, what if you wanted to change your password to something else? Will it break again? Or if you were not comfortable with the security of having your password saved?

I'm at work right now so I don't even know if the "quick fix" will work for me, I'm just saying if it doesn't work for all people, then I'd be more interested to hear about something else that fixes EVERYONE'S problem.

Successful for me. Did not have password saved previously, however.

I never saved my password before.I just did after the post on here to see if I could get on the game this way and it worked.Seems as random a solution as the problem itself as there are some players who can get on the game having done the update and have had no problems.

I was saving password already on a mule, i just canceled the save, then exited, then reopen, save it again, exit Pol again, then logged back in and works fine.

I tried that twice and after restarting POL it never worked. I just opened POL again (like I already have 20 times earlier) and it worked, I'll just call it random.

Updating messed with the saved passwords. When i first logged on i had 4 less *'s than what my normal password is, then after i did what Niki said my password had the right amount of *'s when logging in and then it worked.

Now something fun. my JP pol logs in no problem(we had a update too) with my friends account who have problem after that update. (I play Japan on Japanese version.) JP button ^^

My friends who cant log in asked me to check(i used my english ff and ID PW bad message came up)

They updated something with the encryption but forgot to do it server side or something.

I was able to login eventually for a short window without even closing pol.

I tried resetting my encryption file and resetting my saved password to acct and it didnt work.

You guys are likely just getting lucky on getting in, cause even trying to login by manually inputting password at the login screen still would not let me on, but saved password which didnt work, worked 5 mins later w/o changing or restarting anything.

And I rather not play than keeping my password stored >.>
