I'll laugh when player dungeons turn out the same as Runescape player dungeons. No XP, no loot, no NMs, just shitty boring regular mobs with zero benefit.

Is it just me or the dude all the way in the right kind of looks like michael jackson if you look hard enough?
Erm, I actually turn in tags in the downtime between big waves during big epic bastok battles, if just to be able to get exp towards JA cap again and then back to recapping dmg taken/dealt/cured.
Don't like the idea of a time limit for new tags, but if it would kill the nerobotting I can't complain.
It basically replaced the low level fortification bashing that used to happen before the last update, In city battles, you'll see alot of people hugging the C.A spamming songs and in most other areas there will be at least 1-4 people spamming away /brd for points.
Like most things SE, you arent going to get banned for botting /brd due to the slow response time on issues like these - that is mainly why it is so attractive for people.
I think that it is a combination of latency and the fact that people would flee/pos-hack the living shit out of chocobo racing were it interactive.
Like I said, I know darn tooting that in the end that the user-created dungeons will be another version of Garrison/Chocobo Racing/Pankration. I am just trying to make the system useful and not soon-to-be-forgotten unless we are forced to do it. (Pankration)
I have to agree with Septimus, I won't even mind a reward from user create dungeon. They can setup special points like zeni where we use to schedule a user created dungeon where we can exp/merit in. That would be great.
Point is, it's not because they couldn't if they wanted to. Chocobo Racing's lack of interactivity has nothing to do with a technical restriction, so there's no reason to think we wouldn't get a level of control that's already present in the game.
If SE is smart, they'll put this system in a pocket server, like assault and the Ops BCs. If they do that, there wont be any need for scheduling and people can do it anytime they can. If you had to fight for an instanced exp area, that kind of defeats the purpose of having one in the first place.
Sorry if anyone's said this before, but when we think about how people will actually create a user created dungeon.... Does anybody else figure that it'll pretty much work like setting up a Mog House layout?
Honestly, as stupid as this may sound, perhaps allowing others into your mog house was the first step towards the realization of such an event.
Does anyone really have a problem with bots spamming whatever they spam in Campaigns to max Allied tags? I don't really give a fuck, I go to Campaign and kill whatever I see but to have my tags nerfed because some people's vag dry up like the Sahara is pretty damn annoying.
It's because people who might otherwise actually contribute to the battle find it easier and ultimately just as profitable to spam buffs and drop tags evert 2 minutes. It's like, would you rather work for a living and get a lump sum and the end of the week, or sit at home & surf the internet while getting bits of money every time go to a new site for the same total amount?
Yeah, I do. I also have a problem with people buying accounts and botting other things. I'm not going to form an underground fighting force until SE decides to deal with it, but I don't see why they shouldn't. There are plenty of ways to take care of it without hurting people. 1 tag per every 20 or 30 mins for a single campaign battle would work nicely.
Just so everyone knows, I check Gamewatch every week usually there is some sort of FFXI related news every 3-6 weeks if not update news then reviews of missions, quests and discovered aspects of things from Pomm. I wonder if Pomm is one person or the team that reviews FFXI for Gamewatch.
I think there is a FFXI link usually on the left hand side of the page that brings up the list of all of Gamewatch's articles on FFXI: http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/...i/ff11ren3.htm
whom ever Pomm is they really have skill at ScreenShots for dramatic effect.
It's Him!

He's the one doing all the laughing.
What they need to be careful of, if they put a minimum time between renewing tags, is to make it impractical or insufficiently rewarding to bot for exp while maintaining a worthwhile experience for "legitimate players." This is to say, a person of sufficiently high level who shows up and does what they're supposed to be doing should only have their exp limited by their highest medal and the duration of the battle.
Assuming time-caps continue to rise by 2 points per minute for the last 4 medals when those are released, this would be 98ppm at Medal of Altana. For every job there's a region of time spent actively in battle where you can expect to have earned above the maximum amount of exp allowable by your medal. However, beyond that point you are disadvantaged if you don't renew your tags, or if some future adjustment prevents you from doing so. I campaign almost exclusively on BLU, taking damage, dealing damage and curing, which means that my pre-capped point award shoots up quickly to 1800-2k, and then tapers off considerably to where after 20 minutes I may have earned 2200 base, but 20 minutes later it's only 2800 if I don't renew. This means that at Medal of Altana, a 30-min wait to renew tags would be detrimental to me, and 20-min would be cutting it very close, especially in fights with a lot of players or friendly NPCs since I don't drag mobs across the map to ensure high points. For other jobs that can only reasonably do one or two of the three main point-earners above, it would be even more severe, as they have to renew more often to preserve a decent exp/hour rate.
I do think something should probably be done about the botters, but anything above a 10 minute wait would likely have the side-effect of deterring a considerable number of other players as well.
Although doubtful, they could also drastically reduce the amount of XP/AN a song produces when /BRD in conjunction with a longer wait time on tag renewal.
BRD songs are already capped at 300 points per tag, and each song is only 20 exp (if the BG-wiki info is still current). The main reason what they do works is because you can reset it every 3-4 minutes so you're always getting max exp/h (minus the few seconds every 3-4 minutes you spend without tags).
