Do you have to have Sigil on to receive credit toward ranking up?

Don't think so, but superstitiously I have always gotten Sigil before any battle.

No, as I had a case of "check evaluation, at "keep rank", go Campaign and have Sigil konk out the second after I warped out to fight.

(You DO have to have an active medal though. If the seal expires, you ain't getting anything towards the rank.)

2800 or so exp later in the field, I came back. Promotion.

Sigil is just too good not to have on, though. Auto-refresh has saved my bacon plenty of times, as a few tics = Aspir = jumpstart Refresh.

Was said already, but the amount of xp (or AN?) needed definitively increase every days you wait. You can rank up in a couple of hours after 5 days, but doing it at the end of the months is always a huge chore.

I got owned on my 3rd or 4th Medal? Star? I forget, the one before wings, I was down to 5 days left and I thought I'd lose it but it gave me the option to keep my current medal and start a new 30 days

I shot through the ranks without ever once missing an evaluation or having my performance called into question. I was expecting some hefty requirements by the time i got into Wings, but i had no issues at all. I'd usually try and get between 50 and 60 thousand xp at the end of each night, which is usually only one or two battles, at least three days out of the five between my evaluations.

You cant even get an Alied Tag to participate in the battle if your medal seal has expired, I believe.

Thanks for this. I usually end up leaving my campaigning a while and it was getting to be more and more of a pain. Now I know why! Better to keep it up to get to max asap.

I didn't pass evaluation going from Wings rank 2 to rank 3. I'm pretty sure that has to do with the 1 day I didn't campaign.

Exactly. Thusly, you're not getting diddly from Campaign battles till you re-evaluate and either demote/promote/keep your medal and renew seal.

Incidental note- I went from "keep current medal" to promotion in about 8000xp worth of campaign battles for Mythril Wings -> Wings of Integrity...I'd been checking after each minor battle cause I was below par, found I'd gotten to "keep your medal", and after an epic West Sarutabaruta battle (the aforementioned 8000ish over three tags), came back and ended up promoted. I had 20 days left on the seal at the time.
