So I just picked up the OB and installed it! I load up portal (YAY RIGHT? WRONG!) it shows the opening logo and my monitor goes black and says over range! I'm assuming its initial rez is fucked but I don't know how the fuck to fix this and its pissing me off. Please help.

Moving to tech and...
That usually means you're trying to display a refresh rate that your monitor doesn't support. See if you can adjust the settings outside of the game (assuming in steam? I only played this on the 360 so not sure) and set it to 60Hz if you have a flat panel monitor.

More specifically this. Also handy if you accidentally set your resolution to something out of range and can't see to change it back.
