Speaking of UI's, I enjoy my nice clean UI. Only thing you see is what has a CD. Not shown are my awesome quartz bars + magic track.
Most of the time I have 35~mb of addons on, but when I turn on Questhelper it gets pretty laggy QQ. 2gb ram, crap cpu, and I always have firefox open
Yeah its pretty nice for when you want to callout whos failing at healing. Like one the new healrs we got that was a druid for MT healing... had to call him out when all he was using was rejuv to heal the "Flame of azzinoth" tank.
It was a nice time after wipe to go on vent... "nameofperson YOU FUCKING FAIL"
other then that not too much use I guess. although always curious on the dps!
Only thing I don't like about my UI is the fact that I see the 5 in my group with big huge icons...
oh and ... I use a alot of mods, atm up to 21 mods.
Sounds like our Flash of Light MT healing trials. That is a fast way to fail your trial. >.>
To keep this somewhat on topic, anything interesting in the beta regarding professions?
I fraps'd some deathknight tanking in the nexus (a 5man), theres literally no tank-ish plate available currently so I got hit kinda hard but I held aggro. Goona edit it later today.
Honestly that's how I'm seeing DK tanking. Ideal for things like the Dragonhawkes in ZA, huge loads of AOE threat but not as much mitigation as a paladin while doing it, whereas a Paladin will have better mitigation but from the looks of it a fair bit less AOE threat than a DK.
If it's not a Tuesday, the date is wrong. I expect it shortly before/after WAR releases, unless Mythic rushes it out the door.Pre-order Ships 11/3/2008 so says gamestop
not always, theres been games coming out on sunday/tuesday/wednesday, and even a few rare thursday and fridays
I'm using like a constant 35-45MB from all my addons, recounts msot of it since I don't clear it for days almost.
Hmm ya'd think through... ice bound fortatude, toughness, unbreakable armor, Frigid dreadplate, and icy talons would be enough aoe slowing effects/damage reduction (nearly 65% attack speed reduction) they won't take "too much" damage.
Oh and yeah DK frost aoe aggro is pretty superior to pally... considering Death chill -> hungering cold > howling blast is some killer aoe damage (but every 1min). Compared to a pally though... its probably alot more damage/threat... and its instant massive threat.

Baiscally its a pally tank... that can keep going chain pulls and helps your group kill shit that much faster imo
Maybe DK can be more or less compared to a sort of druid tank with aoe threat + decent single target threat.
Looks kinda fun from the videos, Might actually be my first tank job!
How does DK stand up against Prot Warriors in terms of damage mitigation? I'm still really quite new to WoW and haven't experienced any real endgame content. I've set myself up as a DPS Warrior and the few times I have tanked in instances I can't hold threat on multiple mobs for shit. Perhaps I haven't explored the prot tree enough, or I just plain suck at WoW tanking (there seems to be way too much going on, FFXI tanking was so much smoother) but I'm wondering if there's going to be more call to have end-game Warriors DPS more often?
KMA is frustrating as fuck aers. It was nice to play with them just to see some boss fights but sunwell with them is just a test of controlling your homicidal tendencies. You'd think after 60+ hours on kalecgos people would get better but its always the same people making the same mistakes and missing portals and not decursing etc. our priv spike flail chan is the only thing that kept it bearable D: i just stopped raiding a few days ago.
Wars suck at multimob tanking honestly. Thunderclap, Cleave, switching targets to devastate/heroic strike is all we have. Thats where prot pallys shine is with a lot of mobs. In WoTLK we get shockwave which I am not entirely excited about. It basically does a frontal cone AoE that stuns all targets within 10 yards and causes a high amount of threat. Sounds great but the formula is based off ap, and prot wars don't have so much of that which is why I am not to sure how it will be.
Actually I think my memory gets toward 60MB in raids, jsut sitting in shats 40MB ;/

As for DK tanking, looking at its talent tree... it looks like it mitigates damage through mostly "slowing mob speed down"
http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?page=652
if ya look through that you'll notice the
Frigid Dreadplate Rank 3 Enemies who hit you in melee have a 15% chance to become unsettled, decreasing their attack speed by 50% for the next 3 swings.
I think that will be the main thing keeping a DK alive "aoe tanking" making everything that hits it hit slow enough you cna keep them up and don't need to spam big heals like crazy.
I havne't seen any pics of a DK's armor so dunno how it stacks up to warrior though ;/
"No wonder you fail in raids your PC is older than you" hahaa...
99% of PC games and books release on Tuesday, there are a few exceptions, but usually only when the game company is their own publisher.not always, theres been games coming out on sunday/tuesday/wednesday, and even a few rare thursday and fridays
