Kinda doubt that player models will be upgraded to the "high quality" models that Sylvannas, Arthas, and Varian have. I agree though that I would love it if they did do that.

I don't see how she'd be far from it (aside from the whole banshee thing which does work like DK's afaik). It's only been what, 5-10 years if that since Sylvannas died? It's not like the race changed that drastically. And anyway, aren't BE DK's not really BE? At that time frame had Kael'thas even returned to Silvermoon to reform them into the Blood Elves?

Night Elves and Blood Elves were once the same, the difference was time and the way they sort of evolved after so long (NE's continuing to be nocturnal, BE's worshiping the sun, etc.). I would have to guess Sylvanas is unique in the sense that she kept her high elven-ness? At least that's how I see it.

Night Elves and High Elves were once the same and they split. The Blood Elves "split" from the High Elves during the Third War after Arthas destroyed Quel'thalas. That was fairly recent and there really shouldn't be a huge distinction between them, other than for a few years the blood elves have been siphoning demons for power. However DK's shouldn't have made it to the demon siphoning stage and thus should look just like a high elf, which Sylvannas was before becoming undead. And aren't DK's...dead? So they should essentially be the same.

Ok, so, what gives? I downloaded new DivX and everything, and that vid won't play. In Winamp / WMP it just makes weird visualizations, but plays the audio fine. WTH?

FFdshow pretty much plays anything possible (it even plays the DXGM video codec used in the recent blizz video)

It's more towards the end where he makes his trip to Northrend. Right about the same time when Illidan and his crew also decides to head over there. Technically you're playing the Outland AFTER Illidans defeat in Northrend and thats why he took refuge in the Black Temple hoping to hide from the fury of Kil'Jaeden.

Also on an interesting note I learned that Doomwalker is actually some robot Kil'Jaeden sent to destroy the outer walls of BT. I always thought he was protecting it. : p

I hope the texturing on the armor isn't just hero-specific. I'd like to see some actual depth to my armor instead of just having a belt or boots painted on my skin.

They technically can't detect model changes, If your using models that "modify" models (aka breast size changes) you'd need to use a "third party tool" to have something like that work, in which case they can detect that.

They started banning it because you could use it to "remove stealth" so you can see a rogue from like 200y away even if you were Lv 30 and they were Lv 70 with +stealth and maxed MoD

How does that work? Isn't Arthas in Northrend for the entire TBC timeline?

As far as I understand the ebon hold quests take place in kind of the interlude between the time after TBC, and the time before the Scourge attacks razes Ogrimmar and whatever alliance city they attack. So he's there till the attack then heads back to Northrend to fend off the impending counter attack.

It's made clear if you start a Draenei DK that the ebon hold part does in fact take place after they crash land on Azeroth. Actually the fact you can make a Draenei DK at all without it taking place after TBC.

When you talk to the prisoner before you kill him as a Draenei he explains most of it.

Of course Blizzard could come out and say that it does in fact take place before TBC, it wouldn't be the first time they've butchered the lore.

They could always blame the Infinite Dragonflight (/facepalm). But it's rare that Blizzard actually completely overlooks major lore points. I'm sure soon enough we'll see stuff like Uldum, Grim Batol and maybe even Gilneas activated and make it to live servers during this expansion cycle.

Gnomes always confused the hell out of me, I realize they were in WC2/WC3 and whatever but when my friend told me they were a playable race in WoW it seemed like blizz was just like "Oh, and the gnomes are there too *shove*", then again I don't remember enough about the lore to really make a good argument, they just didn't seem to have been major players in anything

Blizz did say they had big plans for Uldum one day (thats the place in tanaris yes?) but it was "unfinished" last time i heard (long ago though)
