    Magic Attack Bonus on Flash (Feedback on stun, bind helpful)

    I'm in constant pursuit to improve the gear of my freshly 75pld and am a huge fan of kaeko's enmity testing.

    En route to better rare/ex gear, I'm picking up obtainable gear otw and wanted to ask about MAB on Flash's enmity, effect, accuracy.

    If I equip a moldavite earring in my flash macro (this idea started from a joke concerning Holy), will I see a higher chance of landing on resistant NM/HNM/Gods, will it last longer? More potent? And will it generate more enmity than a normal flash?

    Any experience with stun and this would be helpful since the spells are parralel in mpcost and recast and are similar in their tanking uses.

    I won't mention the fact that it sounds silly, but no, mab wouldn't affect flash. The idea isn't too bad, i had to make sure mab didn't affect holy bolts for myself, but that's at least damage. >.>

    If anything, magic acc would help... if you were getting resisted, but if flash is being resisted, changing gear to help stick it will detract too much from your real role... tanking.

    The benefit of magic acc on flash might be something to look into if someone is very bored, but i very much doubt any amount of macc for flash would be worth giving up any gear which has haste or enmity.

    M.Acc as well as Divine Magic Skill does help on Flash's duration and potency (due to resist rate) but MAB does not. A fully merited divine skill PLD found that Flash's resist rate is lower than before, resulted in long flash duration and a few more miss from monster. However you should fill +Enmity and +Haste before +M.Acc/D.Skills in your Flash macro.

    Pretty much what eva00r said.
    If you can fit any M.Acc/Divine slots for Flash that isn't taking away from Haste or Enmity, it certainly can't hurt.
    Personally, with 70 inventory, I don't have room after my normal Haste/Enmity/Shield/MDB/Cure/etc and Food,Meds,etc, or I'd probably try for a few MAcc/Divine pieces.

    Thanks guys, you're all pretty much agreed.

    I misspoke when wondering about getting flash to land, but was curious about the enmity result and the duration.

    Every gil and eg point I get is going into my pld.. Right now, when I gear up for endgame, I have about 45 or 50 pieces of gear on me, + shihei, food, and powders and oils just in case. I'm not afraid to spend the money for things like hades+1. It's just getting there, again and again.

    MAB will not effect Flash, Stun, or Bind.

    On the note of Macc. Just to be clear, does a resisted flash have the same +enm. as an unresisted flash?

    I agree on that, resist seems to make no difference.

    A good example on that is an rdm hell bent on dispelling an imp without success, combine a few good cures or enfeebles along with dispel spam and they can get themselves smacked.

    Flash is a hate tool. It can be used as an "oh fuck I need this mob to miss" tool, but 99.5% of the time you're casting it just to get hate.
