He was impeached for lying about it, not actually doing it. That being said, I don't support it, just making that distinction before someone goes off on some random tangent.

Clinton was impeached and I'd say he did just fine when he got out of office. Therefore, I think this wouldn't do all that much.

Ah, I thought as much. Well, the real question is why are the hearings happening now instead of long-time ago? If I remember correctly, somebody has been trying to get these hearings to happen since 2003, Kucininch has been doing it since '06?

But these are not Impeachment hearings, per say, this is just to figure out if Bush committed any crimes while in office. There are two more steps after this. If it's found out that he committed crimes, senate will vote whether or not to have impeachment trail. Last step would be the trial itself. Obviously, Bush will be long out of office.

My guess, is that these people believe that it is impossible to indict Bush while he's in office. But it's just a guess, if the judiciary house committee finds Bush committed crimes, I doubt he's off the hook just by running out of his term in office.

I mean it's obvious that this is being "stonewalled". Just compare the media coverage between this and Clinton, and ask yourself which hearing has more merit to see the light of day?

Clinton was also a good president that cared for his country not a complete dumbass that runs in head first. Every person would lie when they get caught in an affair because thats just the most logical thing to do at that point. It shouldn't have been made a federal case to begin with, what is his personal life should stay there.
