    Brothers d'Aurphe

So recently I've decided that I would like an E Bow for my RNG. Since I'm poor, it seems my only shots at this are either Eastern Shadow for Vali's, or doing the Brothers d'Aurphe BCNM. Being that I have NM Camping ADD, I decided that the BCNM would be the better option for me.

I've been trying to find decent strategies for this BCNM, but all of them seem to rely on two things that I have very limited access to, NINs and BLMs.

I'm wondering if it's possible for a RDM to reliably sleep the mobs in this battle without the need for Elemental Seal. Do they gain resistance to Sleep quick?

Also I'm wondering how hard these things would actually hit a PLD, because that would probably be what I can bring with me.

    Thanks. =D

It's capped 60 isn't it ? So the Rdm won't have access to Sleepga (level 31 Blm). A Scholar would probably fit in just as replacement for the Blm.

That being said, a good Rdm might be able to keep 3 mobs at bay, while the party starts pounding, but there is no room for error (Sleep II, Sleep, Bind and pray that it sticks keeping Gravity for emergency).

Curses, I always forget that Sleepga is 31.

Looks like I'm getting down to that option where I level BLM or SCH myself. =(

I've done this BC a bunch of times, you can get away with just one ES+sleepga, just bring strong DDs.
Without ES they seemed really hard to sleep (if not impossible, but I've always been a DD, so can't tell), you might have an easier time with light-based sleep (and with Repose now).
If you pull them to the two rooms near entrance you can also have time to wipe and reraise if shit hits the fan, if you gound at least two you can still clear (they are undead and aggro low hp).
Our preferred order was killing them right to left, starting with BLM and leaving THF last

I can tell you one thing for sure: don't try this on darksday, we got owned by a sleepga that lasted less than 30 secs (with ES), and we couldn't sleep them again :<

I did this BCNM a bunch of times one week about 2 1/2 years ago.

We went in with 2 x BLM, PLD, MNK, RNG, and RDM (me).

The BLMs could not land sleepga w/o E Seal reliably, so we only got 2 good sleeps in. I think I was /WHM so I couldn't land sleep for my life. W/o E Seal, only about 1/4 - 1/3 of the sleeps would land.

PLD tank worked well. RNG and MNK subbed NIN for this fight.

I don't remember the order we killed them in, but our strategy involved running in and sleeping the 4 monsters, then Silencing the BLM before heavy nuking it. We didn't have too many issues w/ people dying -- maybe 1 per fight at most. But, this was a while ago, pre-auto refresh on PLD.

I had no problem sleeping these on red mage with AF body, 8/8 merits(only 7 active in 60 cap, but meh), and pluto's staff. Pretty sure I wasn't wearing much of anything else, I don't keep cap gear around any more really.

Edit: I mean resleeping, I'd still advise having a blm sleep for initial pull or at least a 2nd RDM.
