Oatmeal is worse than pizza toppings when it comes to preferences. My grandmother stopped making us oatmeal when we were kids because everyone wanted theirs slightly different.

To get Scotch or Steel-Cut oats you'll likely have to venture to something like a Whole Foods market or bulk-bin style store. They're still dirt cheap (less than brown rice per pount) but don't keep forever, though they're find on your shelf in a sealed container for at least 4 to 6 months.
Total aside, but Sqwunk I love your avatar - 'There Will be Blood' was an absolutely amazing movie and has shown that Daniel Day-Louis is one of the finest modern actors, in my opinion.
yeah haha. I took it from snorg-tees. It's one of their shirts, and although I'm not really willing to spend money on a t-shirt from them, I was totally willing to steal the image for an avatar.
Slightly offtopic but my sister made a mac&cheese bake the other day that was absofreakinglutely fantastic, not over soupy or thick and had a nice baked cheesy crust on top; and it actually kept really well for leftovers (most mac&cheese doesn't, in my experience, whether it be boxed or homemade). Imma have to get the recipe for it.
When they were doing the Food Network contest thing where people could make the "Ultimate" whatever, this one chick made a French Onion Soup mac and cheese, and oh dear lord did it look delicious. @.@;
