Must...kill...ike's aether =/ yeah, Marth's starting to work exceptionally well at the edge game, although I still love Ike's down tilt (the crouch spike) the most, it's just so satisfying to hit someone with that

There's an advanced Zelda move where you basically use Farore's Wind to end up right on the edge of the stage from certain points (in Final Destination, this can be done by just pressing east/west and porting, if you were standing in the right spot she'll be ported to the edge and grab on). Nice little trick to do to edgehog is shove someone off the edge then port straight to it from your starting point... they have no ledge to grab anymore. >.> It's very difficult to not MISS and S-D though XD

Ledgewarping/teleport canceling is more trouble than it's worth

sounds like, i'm in the habit of short hoping->FFing onto the ledge, not the fastest or most subtle way by far but it's working

It's not unsafe but it's severely telegraphed since most people dont do it from diagonal inputs and do it from the straight left/right position.

Don't do this, learn how to edgehog properly. Last night I got 2 easy kills off of Ryko because I WAITED for him to start using QD (it was his only option to get back on the ledge ) and at the last second I quickly ran down -> edgehog. By far the safest method to gimp. It's also impossible to edgehog a few recoveries by FF'ing onto the ledge, like Ike's aether where you have to wait for it to descend.

What do you mean impossible? Its one of the harder ones to time, but you can scoot in there and make him fall to his death if its timed right

I guess it's the matter of when you SH, when you FF, and when you successfully hit the ledge to activate the invincibility frames. I guess it's not impossible, but the latter option is much more efficient AND safer. If you SHFF a Aether recovery, chances are you could be spiked by it, and if the character has a piss poor recovery (or a predictable), then now you're the one being edge-guarded.

Easier to get behind aether I suppose but hugging is too good.

I just honestly don't see the benefits of SHFF edge-hogging, where running off the ledge and instantly grabbing works just as well. There's no harm in doing so (unless you do it wrong and you get caught into the recovery via missing the ledge as soon as you drop), and it's much efficient as well.

SH FFing the edge is a good mindgame if you wanna force someone to drop lower or air dodge. Like in my fight against mask if he saw me hug off the ledge he wouldnt have gone for the flame choke.

    Marth Options

    #1: Hug
    #2: Chase off with F-air
#3: RAR D-air (Edit: Ok Edge Hop D-Air works too)
#4: If all else fails, dash off, reverse Dancing Blade to turn around, Up B for stage spike

    I win :D

I usually do the edge-hop D-Air (not to much of a success rate at this point) or the chase off with fair, which usually leads to me dying because I go too far or somehow kill myself, in fact on my friend's wii i'm positive I lead self-deaths, I have to be somewhere around 200 now

Shit is easy to predict and dodge, lol <_<. Most of the time I'll just get hit by it as Ike since it pushes you towards the stage and not away.

Who said anything about jumping off, PK Thundering, and coming back? Just PK Thunder onstage. Sure, it can miss, but it is a good technique if you can predict your opponent's movements or at least cover yourself with it before they get to you.

Oops, I meant Ness by the way, Lucas pushes you away from the stage if angled right. D: I was positive I mentioned that
