There will be a marathon of Golden Girls eps featuring Sophia today on Lifetime. Fuck Lifetime 99.9% of the time, but they run 6 different episodes of Golden Girls every day. First wave is from 9-10am, then again from 4-5pm, and then again 1-2am with no repeats. I'm really glad for the ones @9 and @1, because there's nothing on at those times except soap operas and infomercials, respectively.

It's sad that Estelle Getty is dead, and it's even sadder that most of the rest of the cast will probably follow in the next couple of years. She was actually the youngest cast member of all of them, iirc.

I'm not the only one! I knew the demand wasn't really there to have a reunion, but I hoped that with the recent popularity of the Sex and the City movie, people would have seen the potential. After all, Golden Girls really was the forerunner of SatC. The audience for that type of comedy definitely exists.
