Ugh.... I'm stuck at Tower Zot, this place is a bitch. I keep getting owned by these lizard fucks that are doing Ice Storms for like 1300+ damage a character.
Quite a few games with voice acting let you change the character names... it's not like it's that big of a deal, I thought it was lame, w/e =/
Woot just got Rydia in the dwarf world
I haven't had time to play very far, yet (just at Mysidia), but one thing that bothers me is how stingy they are with arrows. The original was bad enough, especially with the special arrows you could only find like 20-40 of in the whole game, but at least they gave you like 20 at once when you opened a chest. In the DS version, you get like 1 at a time. I've only found like 2 holy arrows and have been afraid to use them. Even the iron arrows are expensive as hell in the store, 50 a pop. They were like 1 a piece in the original. I can't afford that at this stage.
you only need one, they are unlimited![]()
Iron Arrows come 50 per unit of purchase or something to that effect.
I was expecting this to be really, really bad, like Persona 3 or Nocturne where you can die from choosing the wrong command in a random encounter, but so far it doesn't seem that bad. Only at the Antlion Cave atm though, so hopefully it will pick up.
Finished Mt. Ordeals and got Cecil to like LV20 yesterday, haven't been able to play it as much as I would like because of juggling it with Crisis Core and FFXI but really enjoying it so far, living up to be a worthy remake!
Just finished the Sealed Cave, shit was long as fuck. >.<
Stopped playing at the moon and overall I'm really liking what they did with the remake.
gogo FF5/6 remakes. ;;
I finished the Feymarch yesterday. Asura was a bitch with her counters. Glad the Reflect trick still works though.
Leviathan was actually easier.
Did most of the Cave of the Sylph today. Just need to do Sealed Cave to finish that off.
Reflect isn't really a trick, the game tells you it's the only way to beat her if you read the books in the room above her. Her counters did shit all to me because I just kept Blinking Cecil with Draw Attack on him, so whenever I'd attack Asura she'd just miss him with her counter.
Leviathan kicked my ass and I couldn't be bothered to have a long drawn out fight of reviving people over and over. Just got to Moon and have stopped for the night. Augments are broken as hell with Counter + Draw Attacks, I have Cecil hitting enemies for around 3k every time they hit him for tiny damage.![]()
Leviathan was not that bad for me. Deluge only took out Edge on a consistent basis and Blizzara/Blizzaga was doing squat. Just let Rydia go to town and spam Ramuh while Kain jumped. Had Cecil and Rosa on healing duty and if Edge was alive, he was using Blitz. Was a shorter fight than Asura as a whole.
Call me crazy, but Asura was easy as hell... a couple of Dragon summons took care of her.
As for Leviathan, that was also pretty easy. He starts off with that damn attack, you use phoenix downs with kain on whoever dies and then use rosa for curaja right away, followed by Cecil using Shellga on the party. Now, in Rosa's next turn you cast Slow on Levi and then proceed with summoning Ramuh and attacking with Cecil/Kain/Edge with melee attacks while Rosa cures the blizzara/blizzagas. If you're fast enough he won't get a chance to use that huge attack again... if you're a little slower you will kill him after the first time he uses it again if you just keep attacking with whoever survives the initial strike.
Only started the fight twice and the first time Deluge killed all but Cecil and Rydia and the second time Kain, Cecil and Rydia managed to get a chance to defend before he did it but I couldn't heal in time to recover properly. I've leveled up quite a bit since then so I'm sure I'd be fine to take him now, but I don't have Kain at the moment either so I'd rather wait to get him back to suck up some of the damage.
I was level 49 when I fought Leviathan... and Edge was at 44. You don't need to defend from it, just let it hit you. If more than 2 people die, restart and try again.
You let it hit you, phoenix whoever is down, and then use Cura (not anything higher, since it takes longer to cast and you need to have enough HP to survive blizzara) with Rosa and Shell with Cecil, both on the entire party. If your party survives blizzara and you have shell on you're golden. At Cecil's next turn have him use the Cura, while Rosa uses the Slow on Leviathan (he has a strict order of spells, so you can prolong the fight by slowing him down and thus keeping him from using that damn Deluge for a little bit longer) and after that have Cecil cure again while Rosa uses Haste on Rydia so she can summon Ramuh faster... after that you can just use Rosa for cures and have Cecil attack. I just had Kain use physicals instead of jumping (I think it takes too long and you need to beat Levi fast) while Edge used Blitz and Rydia used Ramuh.
Leviathan only has around 30k~ HP, it's really not that bad. I believe the order of spells are Deluge>Blizzara>Blizzara>Blizzaga>Deluge>Deluge>De luge, so as long as you beat him before the Deluge spammage you're fine. Ramuh does like 5k~ per turn and with Haste on Rydia the battle is pretty damn quick.
Was hitting me for 1-3k and (bar Cecil) everyone had around 1k HP. Don't have a clue what level I was, but Rydia and Rosa both had below 1k HP still. If I didn't defend it Cecil and Rydia were the only people who could actually tough it out, Kain too if he gets a turn in first to Jump out of the way. Either way I'm a shitload stronger now so I'm sure it'll be easy. when I go back.
If Rydia didn't have 1k HP you were pretty damn low lol.
