Haven't been playing much <.<
I reached the water fiend boss in the castle right before you lose palom/porom, that thing's tsunami attack thing did ~1k dmg and the only one who could survive it was yang![]()

So long as you keep Tellah or Palom's ATB bar full you have time to cast a Thundera even when slowed if you do it straight after he brings up the water.
Haven't progressed much today, but I went back and absolutely destroyed Leviathan, Odin and then took down Bahamut after. He was easy as hell but the dungeon to get to him was an absolute bitch. Each random battle felt like a damned boss fight (although the 50k exp per fight on the last floor is delicious) which were easy if I cheesed it with Blink and Mirage but took fucking ages. Got Excalibur (best weapon til the last dungeon iirc?) and now I have no idea whether to continue with the story before I completely overlevel or go get Yang's Augments (apparently they're missable if I continue now).
I ended up restarting because I had fucked up my game for the next playthroughs. (Gave the wrong Augments to the wrong people, didn't get them, ect.).
Just beat Cagnazzo again, I forgot how much a bitch fight he can be. Now to whore up some levels, my team is only like ~20 now.
Augment system is silly, it's extremely rare for me to do more than one playthrough of a game in a row anyway (I'll come back to games I love maybe a year or so down the line) so I never plan on getting them all perfected anyway. I've missed out on stuff like Doublecast but the game's difficulty is great without it, if Rosa had it I can imagine the game becoming a shitload easier and it's perfect now without it.
I like them and that they've added some new shit to the game but how you get half of them is fucking stupid. Also far too little space for abilities on each character imo. I have Cecil loaded with Counter and Draw Attacks but now I'm stumped as to what to do for shit like Kick (delicious Kick counters will be broken as hell). I could swap Attack out for it but then I have to annoyingly do Auto-Attack and not get to choose my target every time I just want to do a normal one.
I believe it's just after the next story sequence on Moon. I've already gone through and got Bahamut but Yang's wife just gave me the Frying Pan afterwards so I can go get Yang's augments. If it's that GameFAQs guide don't take everything you read for granite.Originally Posted by EternityEnd
Maybe set Kick to the Auto-Attack command instead? Just an idea, since Kick hits all.
Point of using it was so he counters every hit with Kick (would absolutely destroy random encounters in weaker areas), but to do so you need to set Kick as the top command which rules out just setting it as the Auto. I don't want to lose White Magic for it either, though I suppose I could just switch it back and take off Kick for boss fights and harder dungeons anyway.
You're unable to go back and get Yang's augments(even if you have the Frying Pan) after you get Fusoya, because after you get him, when you go back to earth you're immediately forced into the Giant of Babil dungeon.
...Unless you went and beat Bahamut before even getting Fusoya. I guess you could then. Either way, hope you get them.
Only places I've been on Moon are into Bahamut's dungeon and Hummingway Abode. You get Fusoya after you go through the Lunar caves so no I haven't met him yet. The guide on GameFAQ's tells you as soon as you go to the moon you can't go back and do them though.
Eh, he only says that because he assumes you're following the guide completely, which means you go through the caves right off the bat. He's pretty reliable(being the Admin for gamefaqs, I would hope so), only thing I dislike about the guide is he isn't localizing the item/augment names so it gets rather confusing sometimes.
Okay I'm starting to get annoyed as fuck right now. Anyone know of the chest in Elban Castle that has the blood lance in it? How the fuck do I get passed the damn hole? I've tried float and squeezing around it, looking for a secret passage, ect. Everything, am I missing a tunnel somewhere?
[edit]
Nevermind, found it.
how you did it? i skipped it :D
Finally got my first 2 losses, The Wind Fiend (cause I forgot about counter Thundaga), and Dr. Lugae (Zombie Form). Is there a good strat for Dr. Lugae? I tried the Elixer Curaga strat and didn't seem to work for me...
Edit: And screw augments, I didn't figure out how to add them (key items wtf) till it was too late for dualcast ; ;
always did dual cast curaga on reverse
