Lugae casts reverse gas the second you start the fight, just toss an x-potion on him followed by a curaga or two and he's done for.
As for Barbariccia, just Jump with Kain when she's in her tornado form and it'll destroy it.
died for my first time at baron when you fight cizzanao or whatever his name is. i guess I got caught off guard, I dont remember tsunami pwning so much. guess i'll go level grind so I have some more HP and keep thunder rdy to stun the water.
Cagnazzo was nowhere near as beastly in the previous games as he is in the DS version. Tsunami does crazy damage and has added effect: Death now. Palom's only role should be to wait for him to gather the water and then immediately hit Cagnazzo with a Thunder spell. I had Tellah as the backup stunner and used him to keep Palom and himself hasted.
The final dungeon is really pissing me off... i'm 66~ and it's really frustrating when you get like 1-2 levels in there (which takes a while) only to open a chest with an insanely hard dragon that kicks everyone's ass with 2 spells back to back.
Just got Fusoya and about to go get my ass handed to me by Bahamut (most likely).
Bahamut is a total joke. The dungeon was a right bastard for me. You can't run away from the Behemoths and they take forever to kill. Easy as hell fights if you have Draw Attacks on Cecil and keep him and Edge blinked, but they take so god damn long. I didn't even have Fusoya but Bahamut was a sissy. He does nothing for ages with a countdown for Megaflare, just guard before he uses it and it barely does any damage. He got off 2 Megaflares before I killed him.
Yea... I just found that out. The Behemoths were harder then Bahamut was, I beat him before he could do his first Mega Flare. Think he just hit 2 on his countdown.
Ok beat Dr. Lu-Gay I'm a moron and figured out the 2nd Reverse Gas made healing work again, I forgot about that :/
Took me about 8 tries to beat Lugae. I didn't want to use any Elixers, though, so I did it the hard way. W/o elixers, it seems to be based highly on luck. Most of the time he would reverse while in mid-cast of Curaga, which resulted in me killing myself. At the start, he would usually Reverse > Restore, so I just casted my highest nuke on my party with Rydia. When he reversed again, I used Dragon with Rydia, normal attacks with Cecil/Kain/Edge, and hastemarch bardsong with Rosa. ATB bars fill up super fast with it, so it was pretty much a zerg fight.
I never went to Mysidia while I was back up on the surface, and now just resurrected the Lunar Whale. And now I can't find the Elder anywhere. Am i SOL for obtaining the augments he had? >.>
edit: nvm, found the door. it blends in really well. Elder only gave me Twincastx2. Did you have to use augments on Por/Pal to get the Dualcast one?
You can use the third augment on either palom or porom. It doesn't matter which.
And yea, you can't get dualcast until the next playthrough.
Hmm, I don't remember Slow being nearly as godly in previous versions of this game, although maybe that's just because I didn't need it since the bosses weren't as hard. But seriously, here's how my Dark Dragon fight went:
1st try: Horrible flaming death due to Dark Breath spammage
2nd try: Horrible flaming death, cursing at DS
3rd try: Horrible flaming death, almost threw DS against a wall
4th try: Tried using Slow against him, won without breaking a sweat. He only used the move once and only got in two regular attacks besides that. I'm not complaining, but wow...
Slow makes the world go round in this version. Also, when you get Yang have him Focus x3 and pop a Bacchus' Wine (Berserk) and watch him do like 6k+ damage one shotting bosses at Lv20.
Haha, yeah, another part of my strategy for Dark Dragon was to Focus x 3, then attack, then Focus x 3 again but wait for the Dark Elf to transform, then smack him upside the head. Berserk would've made it even hotter for sure.
The best way to make fights easier is not to level up more, or try defending more... its to set the battle speed to 6. When the battles go that incredibly slow, reacting to anything is so easy. Of course, the fight might take you 10 minutes.
Sure feels good to hand Barbaricca her ass, grab her Augment out of the Lodestone Cave, then go over to Agart, get a random encounter in the one step between the airship and town, then die to one of those firecat things and two lizards that petrified half my party. Stupid Rosa and her crappy HP. Tellah had more HP than her, and he's an octogenarian!
That's why I save at every. Single. Chance.
Little walk > rebeating that whoreslutbitchfag of a boss again.
