Because the devs didn't make it yet. Maximillian used to wear a helmet and had a normal face model, but one update later, he looks like macbeth and that was that. Either they wont change anything or they'll reequip raubahn or something without mentioning it (shouldn't be that hard if they use the same model for everything.)
lol@the endless bitching about where stuff might come from or not. Why not just wait and see?
I finished PUP AF last night and noticed the text at the end talking about a relative that knew how to make another armor set but she died in the PAST. I SS it and was going to post today, but someone's alrady done it. Seems unlikley that relic for a job in one expansion would come from another, but I thought it was interesting all the same.
I'm all for each set being obtained in a different manner... perhaps it might relieve some of the rush on items/quests/etc like when they released the ToAU AF sets and the price for items involved sky-rocketed. I don't know too many 70+ Puppetmasters that would be competing with me for any crap for my relic :3
Oh man I'm so excited for this, mainly cus part of the reason I leveled COR was to look more like Luzaf (he's badass).
I definately think they will add ToAU AF to Dynamis. One of my LSmates put it best, "Why would someone who has only a 75 BLU or COR or something do Dynamis?" I cannot speak for all endgame players but dynamis is often someone I/we do, if only once a week. *IF* they do add it to dynamis, I definitely think they will add things like COR to Annihilator and stuff. One of the problems with this theory is that by adding these AF to the existing dynamises(dynami?), unless they improve the drop rate the only thing this will do is make current AF more "rare" (decreasing the overall drop for some AF). If that happens I will be so pissed (still waiting on a damn Smn. Doublet!). Now my question is, will we get our ToAU AF+1 soon/with the coming update? Honestly, I've been looking forward to that more than the pain of relic armors.
As how it fits story wise in to the game...
Spoiler: show
In regards to the whole Einharjar thing, I highly doubt AF2 will be added there. I yes Animator+1 is there but that is the only ToAU "Relic Accessory" that can be considered from there. I mean Buccaneer's Belt could count but its All Jobs.
SCH/DNC merits, I dont expect to get Group II (which sucks for all the DNC out there unless they give DNC something to make them useful in endgame stuff). But I hope there will be some decent choices.
I reallllly realllly hope they add DNC and SCH to existing Abj/Salv gear. The fact that my SCH cannot use Zenith Crown, or mitts, or wtvr is redicious and makes no sense. SCH will probably end up on Marduk's if they do so as to not make SCH more of a BLM/BLM2. DNC will have Skadi/W. Abj.
And here is hope to the revival of crafting! (I know I know, don't hold your breath) The fact is there are many unused synthesis materials still. (Ixion's Horn anyone?) Who knows, maybe we'll get a Last Verse + Eternal Mercenary Quest/Mission that will answer the whole relic question.
Honestly I'm just happy cus it seems like SE is stepping it up (a little bit).
yes, clearly there were BLUs CORs and PUPs in the hydra corps because M. Night Shyamalan is now scriptwriting for FFXI. Apparently the updates are coming so slow because he can't figure out a way for that to make sense without trapping our characters in Dynamis indefinitely once we complete the missions.
I'm also pretty sure that Diabolos said, directly to you, in fairly plain language, that Dynamis is a refuge for the souls of people who want to escape the destruction of Vana'diel.
Ten thousand years ago the Kuluu, too, lost all hope. It is then that I was born here, in the depths of their city.
I am the ruler of dreams, and within my dreams--within my kingdom of Dynamis--people can escape the harshness of reality.
Emptiness consumes the body, but the soul lives on--it lives on in my world.
If the Keeper of the Apocalypse truly is on his way, there is nothing left on Vana'diel for the children of Altana--nothing but annihilation.
Now come... Save yourselves while you still have the chance...
Let go of all you know and enter my world, as have many others...
The realm of dreams is a paradise, free of pain and strife.
That's not funny at all!
Incorrect. She specifically states that her relatives that taught her how to craft Puppetry attire died before they could teach her how to make a better set (relic/af+1). However, before that, they did manage pass on the teachings of how to make this better set to one mysterious woman who decided not to make armor for a living. There was never any mention of the past, or the recipe being lost, etc. The NPC is insinuating that there remains one single person in existance that knows how to make it, but would probably take some pursuading to do so since she obviously doesn't give a shit about making armor. The last bit says that because of that fact, the armor is extremely rare. This might be implying that the mystery woman has made some, but didn't make a living off of it, so there's only a small amount in existance and we need to find those... or that it's going to be difficult to get her to make it for us. Either way, it's still up in the air where it's going to come from. I think rare Einherjar drops is realistic without trying to scramble to make up reasons and continuity patches as to why it all of a sudden is found in Dynamis as it was pretty consistantly stated by story-related NPCs that the Empire declared neutrality during the Crystal War.
If I were the Empire, I would have sided with the beastmens.
For some reason, I want the Empire to take over Vana'diel.
Ultimately, once time travel is in the picture, all continuity problems are nullified.
But on a side note: I think people are getting rather silly with the dependence on the storyline for why TAU relic "cannot" drop in Dynamis. Seems to me that by any standard of measurement, SCH was heavily involved with the war, so from a storyline perspective, we should have been been fighting Hydra Scholars for the last 4 years (and getting useless SCH relic).
It also makes no sense that Sagheera can send artifact gear for "middle-lands" jobs off to the Near East for upgrading, yet these same artisans have no clue what to do with the standard uniform of the infamous soldiers of the Empire that they live in? How is it that Sagheera's crew can upgrade Summoner AF, but not Puppetmaster?
You're seriously overthinking this. The TAU and WoG jobs' relic are not in Dynamis because the expansions weren't made yet... that's it. And with time travel on the table, it's ridiculously easy to backdoor anything you want. Oh, COR relic drops in Xarcabard because Luzaf fought Promathia at the steps of Zvahl! Or whatever the hell else you want.
Remember, time travel is always the worst of all possible storylines.
Fuck her
I don't want some retarded reworked FFfailVIII bs working its way into this game. One that I actually like.
Except that Sagheera is from the Far East, Aht Urgan is the near east. Last I checked, Aht Urgan remains at war with the Far Eastern empire, so it makes sense that that PUP or BLU Artifact secrets might not be readily available; national security and all.
However, what does escape me is that the Seagull Phratrie(CORs), are at odds with Aht Urgan, so you'd think they'd be happy to spill the secrets of COR's Artifact to the Far East, and thusly come up with some HQ or Relic stuffs.
