I'm just worried this will be like last update, where at first I was like 'OMFGYES I CANT WAIT TO UPGRADE MY QUICKSILVER' and then they hit us with the insane Nyzul Relic requirements...I'm half expecting it to be the same thing for COR Relic, they come out and say "The ToAU Relic will be quested to make it accessible to everyone!", then quest is added and it's 11 months of work and 50m gil worth of synth mats for the gear.

I personally really, really, really don't want 500k Dynamis runs...unless they somehow upgrade Dynamis to be instanced. 500k Dynamis runs means every single dinky 8-10 member group-of-friends linkshell can pitch in and farm Xarc whenever they want. At the moment we're lucky to get 1 Xarc a month just dealing with the large shells that feel it's ok to monopolize the zone week after week, I really don't want to have to fight 15 lowman shells for it every week as well.

I hope they also give us those AN body armor to complete the set this update. So far, they are all really useful for all my jobs except Fourth sets.

Considering the stats on the I.R. Set so far, if the body is going to surpass the rest of the set, it will rival Hydra Haubert. If thats the case, I can stop worrying about getting a valor surcoat.

*ponders* In the category of awesome, having a Dynamis entry in Xarc and Beauc [S] would go miles and miles towards amending that, and would neatly get around the retcon problem.

Heck, make a "ruins" Dynamis of the three city zones with an alternate entry form of some kind (same Gil cost) for [S] areas, and you've got 5 places to put new AF + more options for old and people don't go into conniption fits as often for Dynamis. Just make the requirement doing enough of Cait Sith's errands for said temporal "oops" to happen.

IIRC it was specifically worded as 'increasing drop rates'.

- A new quest featuring relic equipment for Blue Mage, Corsair and Puppetmaster has been introduced.

I guess increasing the droprate on coins and gear would have the same effect.

I personally hope that they don't add more zones, unless they include all gear like the cop zones do, but with increased coin droprate and more chances at getting the regular AF2 gear - like off of nightmare mobs or something. Having to alternate zones for specific gear desires (tav for hydra body, valk for af hat -1, bub for what the heck do we do this zone for) along with city and northlands is a headache considering how few coins those zones drop.

My guess is that they're adjusting Iceland drop rates and the entry fee and that they thought it would be cool to ninja in a shot of PUP AF2 to show they're adding that too, without splitting the banner a fourth time.

You guys are reading into it too much. If that screenshot means that PUP AF2 will drop in Dynamis - Jeuno, doesn't that mean by virtue that PLD AF2 should drop there too? Here's a shocker, there's no PLD AF2 in Dynamis - Jeuno.

My money is on an entirely different system altogether, or maybe even new Dynamis zones, but they won't add AF2 to old zones.

I concur with this (and, in addition, pray that it's the case, because as much as I want my Duelist's Chapeau I don't want to have to do Dynamis again).

Dynamis is an event based on the idea that the Hydra Corps were warped into an alternate dimension, and although we can enter the past, that doesn't necessarily mean we can join the Hydra Corps and the fact that in the current time none of the Hydra Corps are any ToAU jobs it would seem to indicate that even if those jobs appeared in the past via Maws, they were not in the Hydra Corps. Apparently, no Dancers or Scholars were included in the Hydra Corps either. Dynamis was created from a moment in time, the Siege of Castle Zvahl, not a general period in which other jobs may have been present in the time period but not at the Siege.

Ok, yes, I am thinking about this too much.

From the storyline, Dynamis as a realm has existed much longer than that; it's been around since Diabolos became a terrestrial avatar.

As for why the other jobs wouldn't be in the HydraCorps and thus AF2 shouldn't exist for them, the only slight issue is with DNC and SCH. We see from the storyline now that the jobs played prominent unit roles in battle groups, but they don't necessarily exist in all of them, as seen in Campaign.

There's nothing saying that SE can't come up with some contrived background for AF2 for BLU/COR/PUP: "We were going to help, but Al Zahbi got attacked again and we had to withdraw our aid... This is what they would have worn, crafted specially for the conflict in a distant land, isn't it amazing? We have tons of this useless stuff now which you can have, for a price." etc.

Part of the issue is the fact that the East did not get involved in the Crystal War. The Empire went as far as to turn away emissaries from the three nations and the Marquisette when they requested aid. They really need to pull something out of their asses if Relic were to be introduced in Dynamis, especially considering the set that is already present was introduced with sufficient backstory. I'm almost expecting some sort of rogue operation that could be disavowed that magically got swept up the same time the Hydra Corps were.

Hence why I'm already /facepalming
