The only thing I don't like is when people wake slept mobs and don't voke them off or pull them away. It's happened a few times were I sleep mobs to keep the tanks from getting hit too much, only for someone to come along and hit the mob and I end up getting all the hate.

True, but it's in my best interest to take as much damage as I can manage, and I happily tank for people who can either help tank, debuff, and or cure me some.

Otherwise, I'm going to die from Tp spam overwhelming my ability to cure.

This is an old argument though, and not likely to be resolved... but it is part of why I generally only campaign with friends anymore, someone that can toss me a cure if needed, or RR and toss a raise is really handy... more funny too when you and a group of friends get rapefucked inside out by two or three simultaneous squads attacking at once.

I'mma go with yes gear matters.
Good gear means I hit harder, and more often and consequently die more often spending more time waiting for a raise or waiting to unweaken.
With gimp gear I don't pull hate off the better geared players and can spend more time wacking at mobs.

VZX, I'm stealing your sig for my LS forums kthx

As for campaign gear, I'm fully aware of the melee RDM/WHM/BLM/etcetc that don't cure at all, so I keep a more or less "defensive" setup on fulltime when I campaign. If I'm on drk, I keep shadow body on for the regen, parade gorget for refresh, shadow mantle and ring, sub NIN (no DNC sub lul), and go to town with Maneater/Ridill. Can stay up almost indefinetely on DRK with drain/drain2.

THF I go Mandau/Ridill, and full-time haste gear with snakeye for regen. THF is more of a liability but it's evasion almost makes up for the lack of cures. Almost.

Are you bloody-bolting stuff for HP? I've been seeing THF's who'll end up building TP for the usual SATA bignumber him, then Flee + Hide to dump aggro and spam bolts at range to recover, then go in again.

Nah, I usually spam mercy w/o SA for the crit boost. Blink tanking isn't too much a problem when I have hate, which is alot lol

I avg almost 3k a defensive campaign if I put effort forth rdm/blu. I'm usually too lazy to though, its not that im lazy really, its more that to do so you need to solo a mob, but people always get in on ur shit no matter how far u pull =\ or u pull far and get hit by another wave early and end up with no raise. So i say fuck it now i hardly ever bother lol ><

Why on earth would you pull a solo mob square into an approach path? Yank it off to one side, beat the crap out of it, no worries whatsoever. Most normal beastmen I can solo with RDM/BLM, never mind /BLU.

When I solo on mnk/dnc, I like to grab a mob (certain types, anyways -- shadowfang voids are best) and pull it away and solo it. Just stay within reasonable range of the battle, so people know it's there and can come beat it when the other mobs are done, and you're not being a selfish dick. It's not hard. Part of why I love voids so much is that I can pull one away, solo it for a while, and between damage and waltzes build up enough hate that when people do come and start hitting it, I keep hate for the rest of the fight (depending on how long I've been at it, of course) -- the longer I keep hate, the longer I can keep hate, as it were. Since the best XP for a melee is the cross between doing and taking damage, it works out nicely, but without making everyone else sit around waiting 45 minutes for campaign to end.

Moot point though, since beastmen took the cities I haven't even gone into the past. There's a difference between "we don't want the nations to dominate the war" and "we want to find out if we can make campaign mobs zone into mog houses, too."
