The Cleveland Show is an upcoming American animated series by Seth MacFarlane, a spin-off from Family Guy. The Cleveland Show will be an animated series focusing on the character of Cleveland Brown and his family as Cleveland moves from Rhode Island to Virginia. His newly introduced family includes his new wife, Donna, (to be voiced by Sanaa Lathan) her 16-year-old daughter, Roberta, (to be voiced by Nia Long) and her 5-year-old son, Rilo. Cleveland Jr. also is in the family but is now much fatter than he appeared on Family Guy. Cleveland's neighbors also include a family of talking anthropomorphic bears, a redneck couple (with the husband Lester to be voiced by Kevin Richardson) and an English family, with the husband to be voiced by Seth MacFarlane.

American Dad has gotten a lot better as it progressed. Many of the newer episodes (like the Tearjerker one) stand up to Family Guy in quality.

As for the Cleveland Show, I am just worried that it is going to be one big stereotype, like Tyler Perry's House of Payne. Tyler Perry: keeping the dream of Blacksploitation alive for a new generation.

Family stopped being funny after the first season it came back. I never really liked American Dad much either, but I guess it had its moments. I like Cleveland, his voice alone always makes me laugh, but I really don't expect this show to do that well..

That pretty much sums up my opinion. Around the rest of the 'Family Guy Universe' Cleveland is pretty funny, but still a bore. Removing the rest of the Family Guy cast would leave him just boring, sad they're wasting a show for a lack luster character... >_>

I don't know how you can build a show around a support character that talks as slow as he does. In Family Guy, Peter could hold the show himself, but with Cleveland, he'd need the rest of his family or some sort of gimmick to keep the viewers attention....

Speaking of his family, did they mention what timeframe they're shooting it in? In the FG series, he's in the middle of dating a new gal.

I work with a guy who used to work on Family Guy - he said it was great and everyone was cool, except that Seth MacFarlane is the biggest douche in the history of the universe and made working there terrible.

It's most likely going to suck... but I wouldn't be surprised to see it go into a second season (if nothing else, just due to it being Family Guy related).
Family Guy has it's moments, and I enjoy the show & watch it regularly, but there are few times where I actually laugh out-loud. Am I surprised they are doing a spin off?... not at all... but Seth should spend more time/effort into developing his main show, Family Guy.

Cleaveland was the worst fucking character from Family Guy that they could revolve an entire show around. Whenever he speaks, his voice makes me cringe and I am counting down the nanoseconds until his shitty dialog is over and I can get back to the funny.
