He could dig up Sean Taylor and work him out for all I care. I trust he knows what he's doing.

a dug up sean taylor would still probably be better than 60% of safeties in the league

edit: but you are right, parcells and jeff ireland will find amazing talent. dallas has more 4th rounders producing at a high level than fist rounders.

Don't get me started on K-State being up at halftime of the big 12 championship when UCLA loses guaranteeing them a spot in the championship if they win, lose in triple overtime and go to the damn Alamo Bowl.

It's not exactly easy to win the Big 10 every freaking year either.

Also Oregon would probably have been the best team at the end of last year if Dixon (I think that's his name >.>) didn't get hurt, that kid is like Michael Vick with a brain.

I did fucking state each team plays 1-2 hard games...but teams in the SEC play considerably MORE. The SEC "though" games are a lot harder as well.

Never fucking compare the Big12 to being as difficult as the SEC, please.

Florida, TN, Auburn, Georgia, Bama(maybe on a good day), LSU , and Arkansas could have all easily beaten Oregon with Dixon. Nothing is impressive about Oregon having a nice record when they play the same, if not easier, bullshit schedule as teams like OSU.

@Tyche- Not surprised at all that TN is ranked #1 on that list. I don't care how much "school spirit" or NFL fans you have in your state, campus, whatever. TN will always live and breathe football 5 fold wherever the fuck any one on here lives. I laugh my ass off at the people that come from like California, come to UT stadium, and are in shock at the difference.

That's also an athletics department list, not limited to football. TN is consistantly in the top 25 in mens's/women's basketball and football. Not shocking at all.

Football makes up the bulk of that I'm sure. Even in KY, arguably the most basketball hungry state, UK generates more revenue offf football than basketball. With that said, kinda surprised that UCLA isn't on the list.

Edit: Kinda shocked at lack of UNC too. They got a really decent football coach in Butch Davis. Should have ramped up support.

Auburn's on the list. Don't forget that Alabama lives and breathes football. We have nothing else to leave and breathe anyway. The Alabama vs Auburn rivalry every year is great, even if it isn't the South's oldest rivalry like Auburn and Georgia.

I could get into a comparison of SEC > everyone else, but people do that every year and it ends the same way. What's the point?

Either way, Texas playing Arkansas this year in Week 3 means nothing. Arkansas is projected to finish last in the SEC West since they.. you know.. lost their entire backfield to the draft/graduations. Don't think it's gonna be a hard game for Texas. They should roll.

As far as Dixon goes, sure he's good, and Jonathan Stewart was good, but they didn't have a very good team. They played a squishy schedule (including Michigan who was confused for most of the year by the Spread Offense). Alabama earlier in the year last year, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee... yeah, they could have all beaten Oregon. Arkansas may have been able to last year as well.

And yeah, before you say "Well Michigan beat up Florida!" ...Florida had a dogshit defense. They allowed like 30+ points to Troy and a couple other teams not in conference. They had to outscore their opponents last year. They were the complete opposite of Auburn, who had to shut down their opponents. Auburn allowed ~16.5 points a game last year, and if you think about it; if they didn't have Brandon Cox around to cause 5 turnovers in two straight games (USF and Mississippi State), they could've been 11-2 and been in the SEC Championship game. That and they had little to no offense what-so-ever with a shitty QB. Then they went into their bowl game with a brand new offense, had ten days to learn it, and still won. So yeah. Just don't compare the SEC if you don't have any clue what you're talking about. It makes ya look stupid.

Maybe if he never landed in Oakland. Cris Carter was pretty fucking PHENOMENAL during his prime also.

Holy shit I can't wait for the season to start and I'll be right about everything.

    *ominous laughter*

I think I'm going to start up a 10 or 12 person fantasy league for BG peoples. Maybe set the draft around week 2 or 3 of the preseason? I was comish for last years league and could probably still get my hands on all the same rules.

Ew you fags cheated? And iirc you can set up league votes on trades. 8 team is effing easy too, every team has superstars.

League votes on trades would suck too. Nothing would get accomplished. There'd be 10 moves a season with us, we're pompous pricks, remember?

USC nor UCLA show up anywhere. The top Pac-10 team shows up at #19, and it's Oregon. Speaking of which....

Sigh. It's really frustrating having discussions with people who throw out wild assumptions without any sort of backup whatsoever, and clearly don't know what they are talking about. You say you love to argue NFL (and apparently college), yet you throw out worthless statements like that with no backup. If you love to argue football so much, you should really work on getting better at it. Not having a reasonable sense of perspective makes every argument you make less valid simply by having your name attached to it.

Take off your "SEC is #1 no matter what" glasses for a minute. Just because you never watched them play doesn't mean they aren't good. With Dixon, Oregon beat USC, killed Michigan in the Big House (who beat Florida in a bowl game), beat Arizona State by two touchdowns. They also lost 3 of their top 4 WR's by season's end, and a lot on their O-line. Then, with their 5th string QB, they beat a good South Florida team by five touchdowns in a bowl game.

Had Dixon not gotten hurt and Oregon won out (extremely likely considering their best remaining opponent was Oregon State at home), I don't know if they would have gone into the Superdome and beaten LSU, but I can tell you it would have been a hell of a lot closer than Ohio State was. Of course, had Dennis Dixon not gotten hurt, the championship game would have been Ohio State vs. Oregon, not Ohio State vs. LSU.

Dixon would have also won the Heisman had he stayed healthy, and there is no reasonable argument otherwise (although I'm sure you'll try to make one). Their last three games were @ Arizona (who they were dominating until Dixon went out), @ UCLA and at home vs. Oregon State. They recovered somewhat against Oregon State and were great in their bowl game, but clearly Dixon was the glue that was holding an already patchwork team together. He was the leader through the game he went out by a mile on all major Heisman watch lists. He wins it going away if they win those last three games. But he didn't, so it fell to Tebow, which allows you to forget everything relevant and beat your SEC chest tattoo.

Tyr's not running the league? Even if he's not coming to the boards any more, we should be able to get ahold of him via PM, either here or on Yahoo, I would think.
