Why would USC be on the list? USC football doesn't have to recruit. Petey spends his recruiting days chillin in Hawaii. USC basketball. lol.

I guess they probably don't count Reggie Bush's house on the list.

Tebow was winning the trophy regardless. It might have been closer, but Tebow was winning.

To be completely honest, I don't think Florida could have beaten Oregon. They had enough problems as is trying to stop Troy's spread offense. Dealing with Oregon and Dixon? No chance. Like I said, their defense was dogshit. Tennessee, I don't know. Depends on if their QB decided to show up. Auburn I don't think had enough offense last year to score up with Oregon. Their only chance would be to shut down an aspect of Oregon's game and make them one dimensional (which they did against McFadden/Felix Jones and Tebow, so I don't see why it's not possible). Alabama's John Parker Wilson is such a pansy when he gets in trouble, it's hard to watch him. Honestly, it's like watching a train wreck when he gets nervous. I think Oregon could beat them. LSU last year with Glenn Dorsey was beastly. I think LSU could win this one, almost hands down. Knowshon Marino is a beastly HB, and Stafford is the most NFL ready QB in the SEC right now, so I think UGA beats them. I think Oregon beats Arkansas. Arkansas was just too 1D last year. McFadden and Felix Jones or bust. Casey Dick was a dick. He didn't do anything.

This goes to show how unbiased I can be. I'm a die-hard Auburn fan as I've said, big on the SEC is better than everyone, but even I know my limits. While I think the SEC is completely different than your Arizonas, Oregon States, and your UCLA's of the world, I do know what's good and what isn't. Dennis Dixon was really, REALLY good. I do think them beating Michigan in the Big House the way they did was a product of the previous week for them, and the fact that their defense wasn't used to that sort of Spread yet. They fixed their issues later in the season and proved it against Florida.

Oregon beating USC was great though. I hate USC so much (ESPN Media Darling bastards D: ) On some level, I wish Dixon wouldn't have been hurt and they would've played Ohio State. I would've paid to see him run all over their defense, but LSU winning was a nice prize I guess. I dispise LSU too, but it's SEC, and I have to support them I guess.

Sorry, but if he doesn't come to the boards, how can you get him via PM here? He's on my AIM, but hardly comes on. I'll get ahold of him sometime. We don't have to worry about a league yet though, we still have a good month-5 weeks to go.

Every team in the big 12 south has to play Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech every year, every team in the north has to play K-State, Nebraska, and Colorado every year, and they all cross over, and that's not to mention the times when KU and Mizzou have great teams. Plus the championship game which is pretty much always another match against a national championship contender.

And no team in the country would've beaten Oregon at their best last year, they were like Texas Tech with a 4.3 speed qb, a quality back, and a defense that doesn't give up 45 points a game to the offense's 50 scored.

    2nd in the nation.

    Dixon tears ACL

Dixon plays the next week anyway

Dixon twists knee, up 8-7, with 180 yards so far, in the first quarter, about to score again, is out for season

arizona Int return td, punt return td

    backup qb gets hurt

    halftime...

next game, backup gets hurt again in first quarter and is out for season, 3rd stringer had injury from practice

next game, 4th stringer goes out in first quarter with a concussion

bowl game, 5th stringer stomps a decent USF team 56-21, finish season ranked 23

they also had tons of other injuries

Anyway, you'll all see when Big Ben loses his job ;p the guy is a monster

He is an Auburn fan. Yes, I keep up with teams outside of the SEC, but I am not about to start typing big ass walls about why I think X team could beat Oregon.

I figured I probably exaggerated a little bit, so I did a little research and I found this link. It's hard to find specific links for weekly results in the Heisman poll that aren't final results, but I did find this.

    http://blog.dispatch.com/buckeyesblo..._heisman.shtml

This was on November 7, right after the Oregon - Arizona State game. From then on out, Dixon played less than a quarter. He went 5/8 for 62 yards and 1 INT, plus 2 runs for 34 yards and a TD before he went out. The Ducks led 8-7 and were driving when he went out, they collapsed and lost 34-24.

Tebow had three games after that and had 8 TD, 2 INT, with an average QB rating of ~170. He also ran for 240 yards and an unbelievable 8 TD's. That's pretty freaking impressive, even if one of those games was aganst Florida Atlantic. Their schedule of @South Carolina - Florida Atlantic - Florida State is pretty comparable to Oregon's schedule of @Arizona - @UCLA - Oregon State, so no advantage there. Tebow's numbers (especially the rushing) were damp good, so it probably depends on what Dixon's numbers would have been during the same time period. Were Tebow's numbers good enough to overcome Dixon's lead if Oregon goes to the Sugar Bowl? Assuming Dixon plays well, probably not, but it's debatable, which is more than I gave it credit for in my previous post.

Today, I've aruged on behalf of my least favorite conference (the SEC) and my least favorite team (the Oregon Ducks). I feel dirty; I'm off to take a shower and then going to bed.

Haha, Byrd. Yeah... I've noticed that. It's folks like you that I actually LIKE arguing with, because you'll argue both sides. SOME people choose to argue for their team only and won't think to say anything negative about them. It's irritating.

    And Tyche, stfu. D: Haha.

AUBURN FOR THE NATIONAL TITLE! We own your asses bawahahaha.

Honestly, how the hell are they #7 on the Rivals.com Preseason lists? D: I follow 'em closely, and I still don't understand.

The teams aside, look at the fucking SEC coaching list.

    Urban Meyer
    Mark Richt
    Steve Spurrier
    Les Miles
    Bobby Petrino
    Nick Saben
    Tommy Tubberville

Game plan for that crew every week. (Welt's gonna ride my ass for not listing the TN coach)

Edit: avg QB rating of 170? College ratings are different? Thought perfect was like 158.5 or some shit.

On most bulletin boards, there's an option you can set in the Member Profile to receive an e-mail when you receive a PM. Don't know if he's got that set (or if this type of board has that option), but he might.

You don't need to type big ass walls, simply providing a reason other than Nuh-Uh, LOL, or the equivalent is enough (i.e. Akiyama's posts). Otherwise you just sound like a complete honk, and you'll end up rendering your own arguments invalid every time you bring them up.

LSU or Georgia could do it, but if Oregon played their best with 0 injuries I think they win a 2/3 at least. Not saying they wouldn't be great games, but Oregon would've crushed OSU, and did crush Michigan, which is the best comparison we can get.

I'm still pissed about K-State stomping all over Carson Palmer's USC team and ending the season with the same record ranked like 8 spots lower than them.

And yeah, I feel dirty whenever I cheer for Texas or OU, and I can't even bring myself to cheer for Nebraska unless they're playing like ohio state or usc.

I'll give you sc/fsu vs azi/orsu (it's debatable tho), but.. uh... Florida Atlantic at home vs. @UCLA?

As much as it pains me to say this but UGA is gonna be hard to beat this year. LSU has unproven qb's had ryan perriloux not been a fucking retard I would of had more confidence in a repeat.

LSU's D will still be ok, still stacked with recievers and a great RB core but very questionable @ QB.

Not gonna say anything about Oregon winning 2/3 with the teams listed, because I'd get in another huge rant that I don't need to get in. As far as the scheduling, what he means is that @South Carolina, Florida Atlantic, and Florida State are harder combined than Arizona, Oregon State, and @ UCLA. Arizona and UCLA weren't that great last year (even though UCLA had a chance to win their conference with a shit record), and Oregon State was a bit eh. South Carolina is a tough road game, just as a lot of road SEC games are. Florida State is a rivalry, and Tebow completely rolled them. Florida-Atlantic is... well, yeah. They shouldn't count. So basically, SC/FSU >= AZ, OSU, and UCLA, lol.

I've never understood it either. Someone can have a 200+ Passer rating or some shit, and I don't understand it at all. Don't look at Graham Harrell's stats. He plays for Texas Tech. Him and Crabtree are insane.

UGA is gonna be hard to beat, but their schedule is absolutely brutal. I think they are the best team in the SEC, but their schedule will be their downfall. It'll be just like when Auburn went 13-0 in 2004. They didn't have as hard of an Out of Conference schedule as Oklahoma and USC (I guess..) and didn't get the National Championship bid because of it. UGA won't go to the National Championship game I don't think because their schedule is too hard.

LSU's D is alright, but losing a big part of it in Dorsey, Chevis Jackson, Stetlz, and such really hurts. Their offense is really in trouble without a QB, losing Doucet and Hester.. yeah. LSU might have it tough.

Actually, I will say negative things about my team Akiyama. I fucking hate our coaching staff, and I dissed our defensive line the last 3 years.
