They are serious as hell about keeping him out of their division.
The stipulation was only for Minnesota. However, there's nothing saying he can't go to Chicago.

Minnesota could also be dicks and feed the Jets some draft picks should they ever opt to trade.

Should he stay with the Jets, I can't wait to see him get eaten alive by the Patriots' defense. John Madden must be furiously masturbating right now.

I'll start a separate thread for this, too, and hopefully start a separate college football discussion thread.

The NFL Pick Em and Suicide pools aren't up on ESPN.com yet, but they should be along shortly.

Yeah, NFL Pick Em is I think first week of next month, and the College Football Challenge is later this month too. Two CFB games to do, they're fun.

That would throw the Kyle Orton regime into a tailspin.

    It'll never happen!

The Bengals, Cardinals and Rams all come to New York, I think the Jets can win 2 of those 3 games. I don't see them winning in Seattle. I put them around 8-8.

Colts/Chargers/Pats/Steelers (or someone else from that division) are locks.

    2 spots left
    Jacksonville
    Tennessee
    Buffalo
    Cleveland (lol no)
Houston (hey, finished .500 in the best division last year)
    New York J?

Not a lot of room left in the AFC playoffs.

I think the Jets could get in on a wildcard. Potentially a 9 win season, look at their schedule. They have to play the Patriots twice yeah, but they also get to play against the Bills and the Dolphins, thats basically 4 free wins. They can muster 5 wins playing against the likes of St. Louis and San Francisco.

I also don't think the Steelers are locks, they played like shit last year. They lost to the Jets for crying out loud.

You think playing the bills are an automatic win? The bills are a pretty damn good team. Playing the very first game of the season against a re-energized Miami team isn't going to be a cake walk. That team is going to come out pumped. Whether pitt is a lock or not is irrelevant. Someone from that division is, it's just if you ask me whether it'll be cleveland, cinci, or pitt, I'll take pitt.

Edit: Vegas gives them 1.5 extra wins since the aquisition of Favre

I dunno. I think they might beat the Cards, but that all just depends. The Bengals though I think are gonna be fairly decent, even with the lack of any defense at all. The Rams aren't nearly as bad as the record showed last year. They just never had their full offense the whole year, so maybe 8-8.

Also, the Steelers weren't that bad. Remember they lost Willie Parker to a season ending injury while he was on pace to have a great year. (Oshit, I said on pace. Is that okay?)

Jets are favored by 3 against the fins in week 1. Not a huge number by any means, and to be honest, I think it's a trap bet.

Bleh, a 3rd rounder for Favre is a little less than I'd hoped for, but whatever.

While I don't want him to make the playoffs, I suppose getting a 2nd rounder instead is a decent consolation prize.

I wonder if my animosity towards him will wear off by mid-season.

I usually love Hard knocks, but I have had enough of the Cowboys to last me a lifetime. If anything they should have featured the Giants for winning the damn Superbowl, granted it may not be as interesting but the Cowboys? Again?

im grateful for anything not involving brett favre. the giants lost 90% of their personality when strahan retired. if they did it on NY it would be an hour of eli manning staring blankly at the camera. i would enjoy it being about the browns or another young team thats on the rise though.

it glossed over a ton of shit but i would guess one of the main story lines will be about martellus bennett, as he was a main feature. it also spent some time on undrafted RB keon lattimore and this dude todd lowber from the giants practice squad last year.

I think people aren't giving the Jets enough credit. They did win 10 the year before last and the division has gotten easier since then I think. (The Bills were very, very close to being a 3rd team from that division in the playoffs and the Dolphins weren't quite 1-15 material.)

They also spent an absolutely insane amount of money on free agents this year.

I dunno if I'd put even money on em in the playoffs but I'll be looking for some decent odds to put down a bit.
