I'd be interested in a league.. already in one on Yahoo, possibly another on ESPN.
As for predictions.. Chargers going 14-2, and winning the Superbowl. ;o
Can we wait until after training camp/preseason to start this up? Don't understand why people have drafts now.
I just can't wait for training camp to end... I live/work near the Bears camp, and it attracts alot of annoyances.
I'm definitely in for the league this year again, I talked to Tyr the other day and he mentioned wanting to do a side IDP league like we had last year so I'd imagine he plans to commish both the regular and IDP league. He said he hasn't gotten his PW for the new forums though so maybe that's why he's slacking on us.
I already got one yahoo league, hoping for at least one hopefully two more leagues from BG!
I know a lot of people wishing camp to end. One of which being the Favre.. I mean the Green Bay camp. Seriously. I like the guy and all, but this is getting ridiculous. The Packers need to settle this deal now. Either take him back, release him, or trade him. Just end it so ESPN will stop talking about it. D:
It seems most of you are picking Cleveland to go as a wildcard over my Titans.
*Will Cleveland have some nice fantasy players? Yes (gogo Edwards!)
*Will Cleveland have more than 9 wins? No, which it what it will take to make the playoffs.
I don't understand how you can chose them over TN.
TN has one of the top defenses in the league. If our offense wasn't like... THE WORST last year, our defense would have been #1 overall. They were on the field fucking 80% of every game and were still in the top 5. We have a ton of leaders on our team too, such as Haynesworth, Bullock, Hope, Young, and Crumpler. Cleveland has nothing but a QB controversy and a cocky tightend.
Swear to God, Cleveland won't make the playoffs. Someone remember this post at the end of the season.
Count me in for this year as well.
8 Team league again prease, even if we have to do 2 leagues again. I'm in a 16 team league (keeper) and it's probably the most frustrating shit on the planet.
I think the Titans are still the favorite with that Defense they have, I agree with you there. But this is make or break for Young's sorry ass (lol drunk and shit off surrounded by drunk guys) To quote Riley; "Nigga, you gay"
I can't wait to hear the excuses this year as to why he sucks. Its always his Quad, or Chow's offense, or he has no weapons, it's the running game blah blah blah... It's put up or shut the fuck up time.
It's people like you and Emmitt Smith that ride his cock 24/7. He sucks. What do you want me to say? Cutler sucks also? Tell me something I don't know. Feel better now that I stop flaming "dat nigga oll" and shifted my angst towards Cutler or Leinart?
FYI its call being a "hater", dick riding is what you did to Moss last season. I understand the confusion.
How about this? All three QB's from the first round haven't panned out just yet. And Mizango is right. Dick riding would suggest he's complimenting VY, which he's not. With that awesome TD/INT ratio from last year, VY needs none of that. He's lucky his defense saved him.
Cutler wasn't so lucky. His defense couldn't save him in that division. We won't get on Leinart because I don't see him playing that long anyway. He's more Hollywood than a NFL QB.
No, around here we refer to dick riding as any obsession with someone good or bad. In this situation you hate him because he's popular and well liked. Ie, you're riding his jock due to penis envy.
Edit: You've never heard someone say "wow you're annoying, get off my dick"? It's quite common around here.
Yeah Leinart is more of a Hollywood type sadly, I don't see him around long either. Of the 3 I like Cutler better even though I think Shanahan is a pretentious, self serving douche.
Edit: Deejay calling someone a dick rider, oh the irony. <3
Deejay we aren't supposed to fight until week 2. We are getting a nice start this year lol.
Never heard of some one say get off my dick because they were annoying, haha
VY still has not proven anything to me or anyone I know in Nashville. As stated earlier this will probably be his defining season if he was worth our #1 draft pick. Although TN's last couple #1s have been awesome!
I wasn't calling anyone a dick rider. I was just asking you to hop off. Everyone's loves to hate on Vince Young because he's popular and I think it's dumb, that's all. We know he hasn't had anyone to throw to. And minus Crumpler he still doesn't. I can't see that offense doing enough to get the Titans into the playoffs this year. Not in the AFC at least.
Edit: Going to reference urbandictionary.com because some people aren't quite up to date on their lingo.
Hop Off
When someone is talking about one person to much over and over
you tell them hop off
person A: "Dis Dude Bob is nice in football, basketball, soccer, baseball he is....."
person B: "Damn Nigga Hop Off His Dick"
i dont discriminate when calling someone a dick rider, as long as its some sort of annoyance or obsession, positive or negative.
Be that as it may, he still sucks. All I am saying is that he is Overrated, hating him because he is popular? Hardly. I dislike him because he is given a free pass by people like you. There are a lot of team deficient in the passing game, or are down a receiver. Do you give the same excuse and courtesy to Kellen Clemens? How about to Alex Smith? Pennington? What about poor Luke McCown when he was in Oakland? Do you see a common denominator here?
Your answer would probably be "no they suck". Ok, I have the same mentality about Vince. He got Chow fired, they are custom making the offense to fit his skills or lack thereof. I don't dislike him as a person, I dislike him as a football fan. Again, it's my opinion and nothing more. I'm not asking you to like it or respect it, because at the end of the day until he proves he can play QB then I will always call him overrated. Just like no matter how much I talk I wont convince you he sucks, nothing you can say will convince me otherwise either.
Such is life. :D
Cleveland could have less than 9 wins and make the playoffs, but only as division winner. It's incredibly possible that the team that comes out of the North could be 8-8 and be the division winner. And it could be any team.
AFC North plays all of the NFC East and AFC South, the two toughest divisions in the NFL (6 of 8 teams made the playoffs last year) and every team has pretty bad weaknesses that could open up the entire divion.
Pitt: Yes they have Big Ben, Willie Parker and now Rashard Mendenhall, but their O-Line is nothing special anymore. They should've franchised Faneca. Since they don't have the O-Line they've had, I don't forsee Ben/Parker/Mendenhall doing very well. Plus with Casey Hampton and Polamalu on the PUP, they better hope something changes (They'll probably be there for week one anyways).
Cleveland: They've been the big FA team in the North this year, but I still don't see them doing very much this season. It's much easier for teams to overachieve when they're picked to be the worst team in the league. Now you have a seasons worth of footage for defensive coordinators to plan against Anderson (by judging how bad he did in the lolPro Bowl, I'm going to say he was just riding momentum and he's just mediocre). And if Anderson is stopped this year, Quinn is still unproven. Cleveland's secondary is still pretty weak, even though they've beefed up the D-Line.
Cincinnati: Now I'm a big Cincy fan, so I'll try to be as not biased as possible. Our defense has always been abysmal, and it's not going to be a top 15 defense this year, but it's a semi-rebuilding year. They've drafted 2 potential Pro Bowl DT's in Jason Shirley and Pat Sims, but they won't help them this year. They signed FA Antwan Odom who could be big but he was working opposite Haynesworth, so we'll see how he does when he's the bigger man on the team (although he's been injured in camp today so I'll change this acccordingly). Our Linebacker core is solid (with Dhani Jones as a smart leader, Ahmad Brooks as a supposed playmaker (injured all of last season), and #1 pick Keith Rivers), but I'm very excited to see the secondary with 2 #1 corners in Jonathon Joseph and Leon Hall, and a nice battle brewing for starting safeties. Rudi Johnson is back to his old form, gaining 30lbs in muscle over the offseason, and our o-line is finally healthy. But will the divas Chad Johnson and TJ hang a cloud over the heads of the players throughout the season? Bengals have all the players/weapons to win the division, they just need to have the mindset. (Probably sounded extermely bias, but fuck off)
Baltimore: Ravens success depends on their quarterback play. Their defense is aging, but if they remain energetic, and don't become predictable, its still the same Ravens D that won't give up a lot of yardage. Ravens hopefully will be able to decide who their starting QB is soon, and I hope it is not Troy Smith, as he is just too short to be a QB and we'll see batted passes at the line all day and night. I'm still picking the Ravens to be last in the division (not by much), but with enough moves in the next offseason and the new coaching shows promise, this could be a team to watch out for years.
Winner of the North: Any one of those teams, but not one of the teams will have more than 10 wins. Just looking at it on paper, it seems like the winner will be 9-7 or 8-8.
edit: holy fuck wall o test, but w/e
I agree wholeheartedly about the Ravens. I like Troy Smith and Flacco, so whoever gets the nod I will be excited to see play. Interesting points in that read, all this and it's only training camp. I can't wait for even a pre-season game.
