Normally I can't hate people with a cool name such as yours (even though it's probably not from where I'm thinking), but seriously man. I love how you're calling people stupid because they don't do things the way YOU want them done. I'm sorry that people don't come to you for advice of how to come up with stats, and projections. Projections and "on pace" are just the way things are done. People have to figure out how much a guy COULD produce when coming up with contract offers and such. You have to know that.

And still, if you're calling people stupid for doing something, I have to call you stupid for comparing Jesse Chatman to Ronnie Brown. He was a back-up for a reason. If you honestly think they wouldn't have won a couple games with Ronnie Brown, then you're insane. You have to remember that with a stud at RB, which is what Ronnie Brown was becoming, you HAVE to account for him on every play, and even with that happening, he was racking up numbers. You don't have to do that with Jesse Chatman. Don't you think that was one reason he did fairly well for a back-up? As I said, he was a backup for a reason. No one really cared what he did.

Little full of yourself aren't you? I'd have to take you up on a 2:1 bet for sure. That's like an early X-mas gift.

Nice assumption. The Dolphins were so hurting for RB's later in the season they went out and gave Ricky Williams a shot over Jesse Chatman. What you're implying saying their backup RB's numbers were the same that their starting RB would have had for the rest of the season?

That's a mighty big assumption. And for someone who's making a huge hullabaloo about people making references to "On Pace" numbers through 40% of the season, you're citing your own baseless opinion as fact.

*I'll be fine with betting on Brown's numbers.

    *My name is from Xenogears.

*I don't hate you, so don't hate me. I just love arguing NFL.

Edit- Chattman was good last year.

Totally agreed here. I'm not sure of the difference between his assumption and the "on pace" predictions that people make.

If you look at a couple of Chatman's games, one was when the Pats were beating the dogshit out of them and he had to come in for Ronnie Brown's injury, so it was basically mop-up time. The other where he broke 120 yards was his big game, but who was it against? Pretty sure Buffalo's Rushing D wasn't very good. I could be wrong.

Assuming what's going to happen is a natural way of things in sports. It's always fun to try and predict things which is what we're doing here in this thread.

    Edit for your post:

*I'll happily bet on Ronnie Brown's numbers, assuming he's healthy. =p
*Then that's why your name is cool. I loved Xenogears and that's where I figured it was from.
*Hate is a strong word anyway, but if you like arguing as the bad guy in NFL threads that makes some silly points, then feel free.

*Jesse Chatman (It's one T) was not good. He was just a back of circumstance that got decent yardage. Any guy who was replaced by Ricky Williams like he was in a game last year... just isn't that good. Again, back-up for a reason. He'll probably split time this year with Thomas Jones.

Yes, it will obviously be in New York's interest to have them split time.

I wasn't arguing to be any "bad guy" those are just my takes. Just because you don't agree doesn't mean I am a bad guy lol.

Chatman was a great FA pickup in fantasy. He was good last year for me.

I want to go buy some cake now.

Nope, Dallas will win more than 11. I'll bet on the Bills not making the playoffs, though. I'll bet under on Cleveland-9 as well. I'll bet on the Titans making the playoffs.

The bills, like arizona, are my sleeper playoff picks. I absolutely agree on Cleveland under 9. Mizango said that Dallas sucks (arguably most talent on one team in the NFL), so if he wants to bet at 2:1, I'll go at Vegas odds.

Arizona is one of my sleeper teams as well. I don't know if I am comfortable with betting on them making the playoffs; I think it is more likely they will play themselves OUT of the playoffs in the last 2 weeks of the season. MattyL is shit and Kurt has like robotic parts keeping him on the field by a string.

There aren't too many teams I'd bet on to make the playoffs. New England, Indi...locks. Dallas with that cupcake schedule. Maybe San Diego with their talent depth. Every other team is an injury or two away from sitting at home in january, especially in a stacked AFC. NFC, who the fuck knows who will win what.

Great fantasy player last year due to circumstance =/= good NFL RB in general. I get your point though, I think.

I'll take a 2:1 on Cowboys winning more than 11, I don't think the Bills make the playoffs, but I don't think they'll be horrible. They're just unlucky to be in a division with the Pats. I don't like the Cardinals. I'm sorry, but until they start winning on a regular basis, I will forever dislike them. Boldin and Fitz are awesome, but Leinart isn't proven and Warner is old. They also can't protect a running back.

Cleveland winning 9? I'm not sure how I feel on that one. I don't think Derek Anderson will be as good. What we saw of him in the last part of the year I feel was the real Derek Anderson.

Green Bay will do fucking great even without Favre. I hope they can pull off a super bowl win.

Arizona has spent 15 years building a culture of losing, and it seems to infect every team they put on the field. Even when they are picked to do well, they constantly underperform. I spent a few years picking them (during the Jake Plummer era), but will never do so again, until they actually show me they can actually win something. If they can't put together a solid season in that crappy division, I don't know if they ever will be able to.

I watched the guy play live three years in college, I've seen him through thick and thin on the field. I really, really root for the guy, and have heard enough second hand testimonials to know he's a decent guy. The pros are different than college, obviously, but I just don't think he's bound for long term success in the NFL. I picked him as my bust. On top of that, Cleveland's got a really rough schedule (NFC East-AFC South), and Browns opponents have had a year to put together a book on Derek Anderson now. I would take the under on the Browns at 9 wins all day.

I made the pick, and I'll stick by it, but I wouldn't bet the Bills vs. the Field. I just think they're the most likely of those second tier AFC teams (TEN, BUF, DEN, CLE) to get there.

Aaron Rogers has played in what, 2 games? Aaron Rogers has been injured in what, 2 games? Grant is holding out. I don't foresee great things out of a very young and talented team.

Grant will get his contract; it won't be a monster though. If the guy waited a year and had a good showing, he could get a fucking huge contract in 09.

I think Cincy is already done, though. I read Odom got injured already lol.

lol, Chatman's a decent RB but he wasn't sniffing Ronnie Browns numbers through week 7. The dude was the leading point getter in fantasy through week 10. Think about that, it took 3 weeks for the rest of the entire league to catch up to Ronnie Browns output through that point. He was the Dolphins one man wrecking crew, and he's already healed from his torn up knee.

If the Dolphins do one thing right this year, it'll be their running game.

ROFL! I forgot about that stat. Yeah, think about that. Ronnie Brown lead fantasy point getters through week 10. Wait, he got injured in Week 7 you say? Exactly the point. Man.. that's good stuff. For once you don't disappoint, Deejay.

chatman was a garbage fantasy player. 96 total fantasy points on the year. he was 43rd in rushing yards and had a whopping 1td on the year.
