Everything is so fucking spread out between the two threads lol, but all i see is a bunch of ppl bitching about the weapons, that no one has yet...You know SE didn't have to make a second type of relic...we should be thankful.

This was said on FFXI WarCry website for Terpsichore
"please keep in mind that the Damage and Delay are still under revision meaning they could be no way near that when the patch comes"
so everything's subject to change, Vajra's damage and delay might not even be that on the day of addition...Right now ALL nyzul weapon have their base dmg and delay that comes from the floor 100 weapons base damage and delay, SE can adjust some of their DMG and DELAY, hell maybe even both on some weapons.

Well, I wouldn't really call it a waste unless you have Mandau. That's why you still see THF's using DE over SB in many situations. It's basically just transferring the damage and adding the WS mod yes, and with Mandau that's fantastic because of fSTR, but with DE it's good because of the dex mod and the extra accuracy you get on the additional hits.

But I do think Vajra/X's or X's/Vajra will be good (although I'm going to assume the WS isn't accessable in the offhand) and more than likely better than X's/Blau. I don't think anyone thinks it's bad (there's a frea that it MIGHT not be that good though), the people bitching are probably just upset because it's not really looking very useful to people with a Mandau. But I mean hell.

But I thought the WS is accessible on any dagger. The remaining question would be whether the aftermath effects activate with Vajra in offhand.

Yes, they already mentioned that you can get the WS either two ways:

    1. get floor 100 nyzul weapon(confirmed), then get the relic upgraded to final form and equip it once, and boom u learn the ws for that weapon class and u can change the weapon around in slots or dequip.

    2. get the floor 100 nyzul weapon(supposedly from the new news), then do the quest to obtain the ws w/o upgrading to final form(no one has info on the quest yet but it's been mentioned to be similar to "asuran fist" so sounds like it's a quest; maybe even use floor 100 weapon as trial weapon)

It's probably questable like WSNM etc, so everyone can get it.

Yea, sorry, that's what I meant. If the effects were accessible on the offhand, which we don't know.

Well imma guess those are all the weapons that will be covered by preimer sites? I think it's pretty dumb that some of them forgot to explain what each "Enhances <insert job trait or ability here>" (-the Quickdraw one cause that's SE's fault.

And also some of the testers forgot to mention the name of the ws (in exception to RDM's Death Blossom, WHM's Mystic Boon, and THF's Mandalic Stab.

^This is the key factor in how awesome these are, full effect while offhanded with a better weapon=win.

With a pitiful 9.3 DPS there are 19 other daggers in the game that are better than the Vajina.

Bad news is nothing new exciting for thieves.
Good news is I don't need to bother collecting alexandrite.

    ...

DAMAGE PER SECOND IS NOT AS IMPORTANT AS YOU MIGHT THINK, THIS ISN'T WOW, FUCK!

    lol

Seriously, fStr, pDif, Tp per hit, hits to 100%, added effects, additional stats, these are important things to consider, you don't weigh two weapons strictly due to the DPS rating.

    Byakko's Axe: Dmg 94 Dly 504, DPS 11.19
Fourth Toporok: Dmg 88 Dly 474, DPS 11.14

One of these performs much better than the other in any given situation, far better than the DPS difference would suggest.

Look at the knives with more than 9.3 DPS, forget a Vajra, nevermind any side stats, it has lower DPS than a Misericorde +1, a Stylet, and a Magnet Knife, clearly any of those would be a better choice.

Are you illiterate or do you not read the parts where the weapon testers say "The damage and delay are not finalized for the weapons yet, and will most likely be changed for patch day".

    No and I read it.

Fact: This dagger is a piece of shit. With its current stats that I wouldnt walk to the other side of whitegate to get it, let alone go through all of the quests they have set up.

Maybe SE will read my comments and decide to increase the damage when they finalize it.

Or maybe they will keep it as is becuase you super literate types are so easy to please.

I think that the only occasionally attacks weapon with a high base damage is the Ridill. These are actually very high base damage for occasionally attacks weapons.

Wow, so you're telling me that if the change happens on patch day, it's because of you posting on BG , rather than you know, them adjusting it on their own after their Beta testers have a play with it.

Considering BG is not a premier site, so they don't listen to our pleas, and considering their Beta testers haven't even touched these weapons yet, you need to get your facts checked before blurting shit.

Indeed, though I have a feeling they will wind up somewhere along the lines they are now, just slightly behind the next best thing to Dyna Relics Dmg/Dly wise, but with the added abilities will sidle up to a comfortable #2 position nicely without obsoleting the older ones...

Well, except the claustrum, that thing's just shit out of luck.

The next highest Dmg multiattacker I can think of is the elusive Balestarius, which only works in Campaign anyway. Dmg 88 Dly 504, and I would be an unstoppable little bastard with that in campaign and War/Dnc... Dmg 93 Dly 504 is ridiculous for a multihitter where the only condition is Aftermath status.

Dmg 64 Dly 504 Fortitude Axe is a force to reckon with, and hangs with Dmg 90+ Gaxes in parses easily when abused right.

The only fact is that whether it turns out to be a good weapon or not is based almost entirely on a series of unknowns.

    >.> There's really not much wrong with the RDM sword. If it attacked as much as Joytoy and with the same delay and 5 higher based damage... I'm pretty sure it'll be very nice. The convert thing isn't bad either, Alla just associated it with something stupid. It'll be nice not having to stop in the middle of something to cure yourself. I can imagine that building TP and WSing on a mob then using the mass of M.Acc (depending on how much it is) during a CSS might be plausible. It could possibly be the most useful weapon for RDM.

The fact is that someone who already has the majority of requirements ticked off wouldn't exactly feel that it would be a waste of time to upgrade. Nyzul Relics just further confirm that SE want players to experience a variety of endgame.

    Here's the DNC one

    DNC Source - Warcry
    http://ffo.warcry.com/news/view/8526...pon-First-Look

Most of the players have been wondering what the new Nyzul Relic weapons would be like and how they will work and today we have some answers.

At this year's summit, we had a chance to sit down and take the first look on their details. The way they will be working is different than the other relic weapons obtained from Dynamis. With the upcoming patch in September, the final quest will be unlocked for people to finalize their new Nyzul relics. From what could be seen on the Atomos server, those new weapons are called Mythic Weapons. Their true potential will be unlocked after completing the newest quest to complete the upgrade. That quest was said to be a battleground type so you will probably require many players to complete it although the details are scarce about it.

What's so special about those new weapons? Well first of all, the weapon skill they bring forth are visually sunning and very effective, but the best part of it is, once unlocked, you will not be required to hold the Mythic Weapon in order to use the new Weapon Skill. But you will want to actually do it because once you have the fully upgraded Mythic Weapon and the new Weapon Skill, you will be gaining the aftermath effect.

The aftermath effect is a new way to benefit players from wielding and using the weapon skill from the mythic weapon. After using the Weapon skill, you will receive the aftermath effect and gain extra bonuses related to your job. The effect will vary depending on the amount of TP you use.

Let's take a closer look at our exclusive: Terpsichore.

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/0%20Testing/Terp.JPG

Will we take a look at this, please keep in mind that the Damage and Delay are still under revision meaning they could be no way near that when the patch comes. The Mythic Weapons we got to try Friday were just completed for testing the night before the summit and we actually got to test them out for the first time in the world, not even the debug team tested them yet.

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/0...ting/Pose1.JPG

As we can see, the Dancer's Mythic Weapon is called Terpsichore. It's aftermath effect will result in an Enhanced "Steps" effect. What it basically do is that when you use a step to gain Finishing Moves, you will get an extra point. Therefor, you would be gaining 3 of them instead of 2 or 2 instead of 1.

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/0...ting/Pose2.JPG

All of the new weapon skills look stunning with new animation and graphics and are doing well in their damage, even though we can't judge damage before they are live. I have tried to self skill chain with the new weapon skill, using Wild Flourish, but it doesn't seem to work so far or perhaps just isn't implemented yet. No clues have been given to know if it could be used with sneak attack either as we had warrior as a subjob.

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/0...ting/Pose3.JPG

So far the new Mythic weapons seems well worth the effort of getting and they might be the beginning of a new weapon skill system well worth the effort. Players will also be happy to hear that the required amount of Alexandrites will be reduced at the next patch to reflect a more fair number corresponding to players are currently obtaining.

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/0...ting/Pose4.JPG

Be on the look out for more information on them in the upcoming days and be sure to discuss Terpsichore on our boards!
I'm under the impression that the Steps effect is not included in the Aftermath, but is instead a property of the weapon itself; I think it's available fulltime. I'm not sure if I have the read on that right though.
