    Great Katana Synthesis Pattern (Kiku-Ichimonji)

I know this question is on the thin line of deserving its own thread (or maybe it's definitely not deserving of it), but I wanted to ask in this forum rather than random question thread in newbie in the hopes that more hardcore crafters might see it than those who may also frequent Newbie section, and there's not really a "Random Crafting Question" thread.

I've been levelling an NPC finally, and giving her a Great Katana model, but while the first six weapons are either cheap from NPC or crafted/purchasable on AH, all information on the 7th one, Kiku-Ichimonji, suggests that it's only available by NPC purchase, for 200k if you're lucky, 400k if you're not.

This seems excessive for a Lv51 Zilart-era weapon, and so I'd like to believe that there is simply a hidden recipe for it that nobody has been able to or even bothered to figure out, like Unicorn Harness until someone got it, or Goblin Drink until SE just gave it away.

My plan is to try out different combinations of likely synthesis materials until I (hopefully) get the"level too low for that synthesis" message, and while I could figure out some potential recipes to try, I am afraid I'd overlook some possible materials that someone wouldn't who is more experienced in crafting--particularly Great Katanas and or Smithers in general--so I'm appealing to anyone here for information. What are the typical types of materials used in a Great Katana synth, and among those, what are good candidates to try? For instance if it would take 1 or 2 goldsmithing-class ingots, based on the projected level of the synth would I want to try copper or silver or mithril or gold or what? Likewise for stuff like leathers.

I appreciate any advice that people could give on this question.

tama-hagane is probably the most used ingredient for gk's and katanas

Gold ingot, gold thread and some low level GKT make ashuras iirc.

Yeah from what I've noticed there are two kinds of Great Katana synths, those that build out of other great katanas with ingot and thread, and those that build "from scratch". Apparently Kiku-Ichimonji is a "meat cleaver" great katana whatever that means, is there another similarly-shaped Gkta of lower level? Otherwise I'll just test out some "from scratch" recipes.

This has me interested... a good start would be for anybody that knows how (lolme) to check .dats for a Kiku-ichimonji +1 perhaps? That would guarentee there is an actual synthesis recipe for it.

I will continue to explore ingredients for it in the meantime.

In the dats there is no +1 and the normal one is not marked as inscribable, which makes it highly unlikely to be synthed.

the lack of inscribe on a weapon makes the likelihood that it's synthable almost nil.

you might be able to convince SE that they somehow screwed up and this should be a craftable but good luck with that.
