I'm broke as shit, but for something that does so much for a specific job the way staves do for RDM, it's not that much effort to put into it. Someone not willing to take a bit of time to farm 450k isn't exactly dedicated, and unless your LS is shitting out Chapeaus somehow probably isn't deserving of it, IMO.

Is darkstaff even that important to RDM? and yeah, 450k may not be a lot but times that by how many staffs their are and it adds up, fast.

I partly agreed with this being a 75 RDM myself. I'm up to 4/8 HQ staves now and even tho I have a Dalmy and no Relic hat I still cared enough to farm but not everyone has the resources to farm up a lot of gil like that. As long as the guy admits he needs staves and is working on it with some effort I don't see too much a problem. :<

Short answer: Yes, pretty much all but Vulcan's/Apollo's are, but I needed them for other jobs anyways.

Partly it's jealousy that mine hasn't dropped yet, but I see tons of people who either just hit 75 RDM a month ago or who just plain can't be assed to gear the job decently walking around in Chapeaus, while several good, dedicated RDMs who constantly strive to improve their gear and play have been waiting years for it to drop, just kinda sucks to see.

Pluto, Aquilo's, Auster's are about the only ones I'll say an RDM has to have. Given the elements they represent, it's easy to see why I feel that way. One could get Terra for slow, but it's a fairly accurate enfeeble and it's power is governed by MND, so I just pile on MND for it.

Sleep II is on a short leash as long as you have Pluto's staff. I think I was 3/11 on sleep II resists before 51. Dark Staff cut it down some, and pluto's pretty much eliminated resists. All in all, you're fool for not having it, and a bigger fool thinking "I have A+ enfeebling, I DONT NEED STAVES OF ANY KIND!" And it makes since to include the tabard with your sleep macros. You need the staves or GTFO the job. I am serious. It's like the girl/man of your dreams. You might have to sell everything else but you wont even part with Pluto.

RDM isn't a job for cheap players. Even on BRD there is no escape from high expense.

True story, an RDM in one of my previous shells thought that Enfeebling Earring would make up for not having any HQ staves whatsoever.

I'm 3/8 HQ Staves. Auster's was my first, Aquilo's and Jupiter Staff. Working on getting a signed HQ Pluto's staff from a friend. o-o; I'm also 75 BLM so I'm aiming to have at least all of them except Apollo's. I don't know, gear wise I'm still working on key things for both jobs. And Since the discovery of Campaign I don't bother exping on RDM anymore. >_>; I think the only thing I'm totally missing from my RDM is serket ring for my healing/MP build. Otherwise a few macros here and there would fix my jumbled set up.
