Yeah that's the one. Can't speak to the rest of the French population as I can't name a single other one offhand but man... he ranks right up there on the intolerably fucking dense scale.

The hilarious/sad part about that party was he fulltimed Signa, and I know for certain he at the very least owned a set of NQ staves.

Shortly before I jumped to Gilgamesh I saw him shouting to buy currency a few times, and so that lead me to wonder what linkshell could possibly tolerate him long enough to help out with upgrading a relic.

what's wrong with nursemaid/string skill setup for lullaby? that setup can sleep most vt mobs just fine with an extra 6 seconds on to sleep duration. not sure if this qualifies for gimp, wtf, or confused as the player seems to know what he's going for and even has an HQ light staff :\

how much do singing torques go for? must be expensive, never seen one before D:

They were just making fun of you because there is no such thing as a singing torque, only string and wind.. and there's nothing wrong with having a good string setup for when you need a slightly longer/bigger aoe horde. If anything, it makes them a better BRD than one who doesn't have it as long as they realize mary's is better for resistant mobs.

That looks like a max AoE and duration Lullaby set for non-resistant mobs. So long as the guy has capped String skill, plus a Wind set and Mary's for resistant stuff, it's ok.

You'd start to worry if he was fulltiming it on resistant mobs though, so I guess it depends on the context.

It's not that hard to get a Wind or Singing Torque - go do the BC because you know you have 500+ beast seals in your mog locker.
I see nothing wrong with this.

String is for lullaby. You'll be dead if you see a bard using a horn to horde lullaby something like Puk ISNM. String and harp is the best for horde, last longer and wider area.

It's fine for a Horde build. Optimally isn't what you'd want for Foe Lullaby, but it's better than not using a Lullaby instrument at all >.>

It is actually a "must" for horde lullaby.

That ring looks like Omega Ring, so this person has been to Einherjar. He/she knows string is needed there for horde lullaby.

If you're trying to utilize the AoE-ness of it, sure.

If you're simply using it as a second Lullaby timer, then not so much.

Well, it actually depends on your mob and setup.

Nursemaid gives the highest lullaby duration with relic horn. 36 seconds.

At this moment, lullaby can't go pass the 36 seconds duration.

There is several resist rate, full resist of course means your lullaby gets resisted.

Secondary resist lower the time of lullaby duration from a max of 36 seconds.

With enough string skills and CHR (I have around +70CHR), you can reach 36 seconds on most incredible tough mobs or even dynamis mobs.

Yeah, if you can achieve that with String, then it gives you a few more seconds than a Mary's Horn. I guess to me it'd then become whether you're using it for that reason, when it works...or using it because you're too cheap to own a Mary's Horn (which is more typically the case in my experience).

With decent gear, yeah, resist rate is fine on most mobs anyway. I usually leave my macros as Mary's for Foe, Nursemaid's for Horde, and don't see a real different in merit resists.

What I meant by the above comment though, is that if you're doing something like, say, pulling Mamools for merit and are keeping a couple mobs asleep, then there's no real need for the wider AoE range on Horde since you're just basically using it as a second Lullaby. The extra 3 seconds won't change the strategy for that. Could just as well be using Mary's for both.
If you're doing something like Dynamis or Einherjar though, then the AoE radius is a big deal, and the string build necessary.
