    Downloadable Content available today:

    Protoman Mode:

Protoman can charge up and slide. His charge shot appears to be 3x as strong as the regular shot. Sliding is faster than walking. He can also reflect projectiles with his shield, but ONLY when jumping, and only the top half of his body. Its tricky to reflect, but it can be useful with proper shield mastery I suppose.

Protoman takes 2x the damage and a SHITLOAD more recoil when hit than Megaman. I've been forced into holes a lot of times from being hit where Megaman would've survived. Protoman can only have 2 shots on the screen at once. All of Protoman's weapons are the same as Megaman's.

Here's something fun I noticed though. Using Proto Coil/Jet, because its exactly the same as Megaman's in terms of properties, Protoman can have up to 3 shots on the screen at the same time. The rapid fire from just summoning a Proto Coil and just shooting has helped me a few times already.

I beat Tornado Man first, which is funny despite how much trouble he gave me with Megaman. Conversely, I was getting my ass kicked on Hornet Man's stage and Splash Woman herself without their weaknesses.

    Endless Mode:

The game counts your progress in terms of screens completed.

Seems to randomly string together stages. I don't know if it creates stages randomly or just has 100,000 preset stages that occur randomly (lol). The current record is 995 screens.

Life and weapon energies do appear, but they appear to drop more rarely from enemies than normal.

Yeah, Protoman is a bit of a bitch to play as, but it adds a new and slightly more interesting edge to the game. I've been enjoying using him so far, even if I have had a couple want-to-throw-wiimote-at-the-screen moments.

I have a question... do you *have* to play through the Wily stages in one straight setting? After beating the first stage, I saved (after game over) thinking I can start the second stage directly, only to find out I have to start over...

This sucks >.> I'll never have the patience to play through the whole Wily stages at once...

If you pick continue after game over you can start at the last wily stage you were at, but if you save and turn it off you have to start all over. You could always just leave your wii on...

The DLC kinda pisses me off. Not sure about the endless stage mode, but protoman, you're just paying to unlock it. I'll just wait for someone to hack the .wad out of principle.

I actually have the PS3 version. This makes me happy that I didn't get the xbox 360 version (and makes me wish I have the wii version)... I can never leave that loud fan machine on all the time lol D:

Almost forgot (since its been midterm month), but the rest of the Downloadable Content came out last week, Hero and Superhero Mode, as well as the extra stage (each content for 100 Wii Points). I haven't gone through Hero and Superhero mode much, but honestly, the stages aren't that much harder for me.

As for the extra stage, it took me about 5 minutes to plow through it.

    Spoiler: show
In it, you have to refight almost all of the minibosses in the game. Almost every enemy also appears in this stage too. Also, don't be afraid to use your weapons to help you get through, the game does give you some energy capsules at various points. The boss is Fake Man, the police robot from the main story. He doesn't give you a weapon, but he does appear weak to Jewel Satellite. The way he fights is that he shoots at you with his gatling gun. When he runs toward you, if you shoot at him, he'll jump back very fast and shoot a bunch of bullets at you. Without Jewel Satellite, the fight is pretty hard, but with it, his bullet barrages are much easier to handle.

That's all there is for Megaman 9, then. If I notice anything different in Hero or Superhero mode, I'll post it, but otherwise, looks like we're done here. Thanks for playing everyone.
