Am I the only one who loved the MM Zero series to death?
Might be due to the Z-Saber kicking all ass (my weapon of choice), but I still had much more fun in those 4 games than I did the MM/X/ZX series.
fail
Yeah, Black Devil was in X5. But I thought we were talking original series.
And you guys should really give X8 a try if you can. X4 was my favourite for many years, but X8 tops it. It really fucking owns. X7 is the black sheep of the series, but even playing that I don't think its completely terrible.
I liked ZX but ZX Advent is an amazing game. I honestly don't know how you could not like it if you liked other Megaman games.
I hope that is photoshop'd....
I want a cool new-retro MM, not new game replicating old MM game level schematic's exactly. Invisible blocks, Pits you fall down and avoid spikes, ect... those are classic's that I want to see in the game, but not if they turn out to be the same design (or hardly changed at all) from previous game enactments.

Stale and slow paced? You've seriously got to be kidding. Two armors (Neutral is divided up into two, well, technically three armors), three characters that all play differently, the ability to buy new weapons and items to help you in the stages, You got two stages that are your classic scrolling vehicle stages, ride vehicles, and well built stages for the ones that aren't scrolling.
So basically it has everything that made previous X games good. And that makes it less good than X4? "Stale mediocre gameplay", you could've said the same thing about X4.
Here's Mega Man 7 redone as 8-bit by a fan. Kinda cool.

Saw a preview of MM9 at the Comic Con last weekend...
While it will remind me of the days when 8-Bit was hardcore, I think they should have kept the graphics on par with MM8/RockmanVSBass.
To be honest, it makes me feel like I'm playing a hacked emulator version of the original MM. Even the PSP Remake looked nicer >.> (yes, that MM9 pic does exactly look like a pallet swap of MM2's Bubbleman's stage)
Oh well... hope it's still good and we do get the classic big mean monsters from the old games (yes, big yellow cyclops monster from MM1 and the dragon from MM2 were fun bosses)
Thought it would be better to bump than to make a new topic until it is released.
New videos released
http://media.wii.ign.com/media/142/14260822/vids_1.html
New videos including the intro which is pretty cool the drawings for it and the story line. It almost feels like this is a prototype of the Maverick virus that appears in the X games but it could be something else entirely thats causing the robots to go on a rampage.
Boss battle one shows the disappearing blocks that we remember too well. I had to ROFL at the new boss door (I won't say what it is, you'll see it in the video near the end XD). What an anticlimatic ending too -_- I was CHEATED
So far, it is looking really good and very fun I can't wait for it to come out. Music is really catchy too. Hope this is a long game with lots to do and have some storyline that links with the X series.
The only megaman game I've ever played was the first Megaman X. This looks pretty fun too, and it being on the wii for dl eventually makes it even better.
I highly recommend you buy Megaman Anniversery Collection since it has Megaman 1-8 (8 was for PS and never came here) to play until 9 comes out. Its for Gamecube so it should be pretty cheap. At the time it was 20 dollars when it came out I think so you could probably find it for half somewhere.
They're going to be building a new Gametop near me pretty soon, I can look for it there when it opens. If no luck I can drive to the one further away if it really is that good.
Love that they're really pushing the retro-thing. They even got the limited number of sound-channels on there.
(can hear those stupid invisible-blocks cutting off part of the music)
Don't get the Gamecube version of MM Anniversary. The buttons for jump and shoot are backwards and you can't change it.
