Maybe it's just me, but even the pattern of the blocks appearing seemed familiar. They just threw a platform with some sparky balls in between.
They're Dr. Light's robots ;\
I really only got into Mega Man X, X2, and X3 for the SNES, but I think I'll pick this up.![]()
Oh, the icon over the door. I was looking at the actual doorway lol.
That was classic... I was like "wtf" at first when I saw the "L." Then I watched the intro scene after and understood it. I'm not surprised they are re-using a lot of stuff, I expected that. I just wonder how an 8bit game is gonna hold up on an HD TV lol...
You need not worry... they've said it themselves. The graphics will be pushed to MAXIMUM DEFINITION AND POWER!!!!!
Even the box art is a reminder of the old school days.... they really shoulda gone the extra mile & had a real person pose in the MM jump suit for it. (and is it just me, or does Wily looked pretty messed up in that pic?)

edit: it looks more like MMX!
Too bad they don't do this with metroid =/
If this is successful, I won't be surprised if we see a lot of retro games come through the pipe.
They could save money on production costs by just using their old ROMs and hacking them to create new levels. They could cut staffing on the project down, too, because then they'd only need 1 director, 1 assistant director, 1 project manager, 1 design lead, 1 coder, and 1 intern.

3 bosses including Concrete Man, Tornado Man, and Magma Man.
I really hope this will be as hard as they claim.
Yeah! It better be tedious hard to where I want to give up and scream at my HD TV w/is playing an 8bit game! I'm not joking either.... some of the gameplay video's tign posted make it look hard.. I saw them use the oldschool "get hit and abuse the couple seconds on invincibility" trick multiple times just cause there was no way out of some situations.
and...
GutsMan + HardMan = ConcreteMan
GyroMan + AirMan = TornadoMan
NeedlesMan + FireMan = MagmaMan
Wow, Magmaman looks JUST like Needleman. Except, you know, with magma instead of needles
I'm just hoping they don't go so retro to the point that there's no secrets, no hidden levels, no extras, no alternative challenges, or no replay value.
