I was just curious if anyone has tried to determine target MND for salvage chariots, if anyone has found out it would be much appreciated.

I can assure you that it is at least 16.
I don't know, but it can be done with Magic Hammer. Assuming it doesn't resist it, you can tell how high the target MND is
Chariots being light-based I bet it would resist or take an additional damage cut from Light. My guess is that Mind Blast wouldn't be good either for similar reasons. Another issue is figuring out any MDB, or a damage cut for whatever spell you end up using. Actually finding the exact MND value would probably end up taking a few runs with different jobs and being more trouble than its worth, but if someone were to pay me to do it I'd probably use Blizzard 4 to figure out its INT and MDB (a SMN or COR/BLM would help speed this up), then ES-Thunder 4 to figure out what the penalty is to thunder spells (just higher resist or TMDA?), then go BLU/BLM and Mind Blast to find MND.
Does the banish trick work? Or the whole Light-Based thing throw it off as well?
blu/blm ES magic hammer could tell? It's not a waste of a perfectly good blue mage if it's done for science!
Each chariot may have different values as well, as they have different attack/str/def.
It's 3am, so forgive me if I'm being forgetful or ignorant, but I can't think of any monster in the game that takes a damage cut from 1 element and not others, discluding complete immunity to an element. What mob does this? I suppose there probably are some, I just can't think of them off the top of my head.
Anyway, I think all archaics just have high thunder resist, as when I've seen it land when a BLM cast it accidentally, it seemed to do full damage.
Yovra take about 10% damage from Thunder spells, but are not immune to thunder-based effects like stun.
I just go all out on mnd gear since they don't resist much. No idea on how much mnd they actually have.
This is all based on the assumption you actually have full gear on RDM once you reach a chariot I think? Personally whether or not I would cast in skill gear vs MND gear would depend greatly on how much I had unlocked.
Bombs are arcana, not elementals. All bombs only take full damage from fire based magic. It's a mob family trait.Bombs are the same way. Only fire does full damage. I'm not sure if they are light based or not, cause even though thunder sucks fire spells work great. Not sure about wind.
