Australian shopping

My condo can get warm, even in the winter, so I always have a fan by my bed. Last winter, it broke, and apparently nobody carries fans that time of year. My friends told me I was out of luck, but that was before I remembered its only winter... in the northern hemisphere! Quickly, I rushed to the computer to check online stores in Australia, only to be disappointed by their utter lack of them.

So my question to you Aussieguys and Aussiegals is: where the hell do you shop online? Where's your Walmart and Amazon and all that? Even your Target is different.

Do you guys have any big name stores with online catalogs/shipping?

The image itself is fake, but the concept is real. I took screenshots off the iphone and pasted it onto a cleaner iphone image so I could make a better transparent, animated gif out of it.

We don't really have any good online stores, the majority of the things I buy are imports from overseas. We don't have a wallmart here in AU, and there's no stores similar to it, Wallmart is huge and has anything and everything, most stores here have less product than wallmart as a whole, the biggest things we have are Target, K-mart, Myer which don't sell anything online. I really don't know why we don't have an Amazon or Walmart, maybe it's the same reason we have this : http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ck%27s.svg.png

In fact, I would recommend against buying from here especially since our dollars are so close to each other, buying from USA is now a bargain, the reverse is like paying double.

Some stores which I typed "Fan" and got no similar results despite claiming they are #1!

lol, Dick Smith is one of the great Aussie entrepreneurs. One of the things he did was essentially make clones of big imported brands of food (like peanut butter, various cookies, etc.) and things, often giving them a cheeky name. He made a "Redheads" matches clone and called them "Dickheads". Suffice to say they didn't last long

As for online shopping, what wafik said. Only things I buy online are computery-style electronics, pretty much. Everything else I get off my arse and go to the shops

If you want to buy a fan here you would either go to, K-mart, Target, Harvey Norman etc.. but i don't know how good their 'online' shopping is.

You can (via VNC connection to your computer), I just meant the image itself was shopped to make it look cleaner for an animated gif, rather than taking an actual photo of my iphone. Those are just screenshots off the iphone (sleep+home button) pasted onto a clean iphone image.
