Hauteclaire isn't shit. Shit's situational. LS still do Dyna. Hauteclaire > Macupaddle +1 when /WAR.

"Hi, I don't have ridill but I know great axe owns it because I heard about it from other people."

FYI, the quote is priceless because you yap on about war/nin being "a waste of resource" and war/sam tanking chariot bosses. I'd like to see you solo tank, hell duo tank the 4 bosses with another war/sam and make a vid of it so I can learn how it's done and please, don't reply with theories about how you can do this and that. Until you actually do it, it means nothing.

P.S: I've gone to just about every HNM/Event as Ridill war/nin, GA war/nin, GA war/sam and I prefer GA over Ridill in situations where I need to make SCs, due to it's ability to make frag and darkness without using gimped WSs and Ridill for situations where I'm can spam WS, pull hate and have to tank. So until you can say you've tried both sides, whatever you say about Ridill is just second hand information from someone who might or might not be dumber than you.

P.P.S: Hauteclaire sucks. I do not have Hauteclaire or any experience with tanking HNM on PLD yet but from what I read, Hauteclaire sucks.

The only Salvage chariot that I haven't tanked on WAR/SAM or DRK/SAM is an unnerfed LBC. I will admit that on an unnerfed LBC a WAR/SAM or DRK/SAM wouldn't be a good idea - for all of the other chariots (and for a nerfed LBC), it's piss easy. My point about the Hauteclaire comparison is that Ridill has absolutely 0 utility for HNMs, and even Salvage - anyone who does Salvage will tell you that putting a Ridill on a chariot is just asking to get your ass reamed. For WAR, Ridill has always been only a merit toy, and now that Perdu Voulge can produce the same or better results for about 1/50th of the time commitment its only real utility is for a Kraken-less DRK. Comparing it to a Hauteclaire, which is useful at almost every HNM fight except wyrms or JoL is laughable to me.

Also, I don't really say that camping Kings is stupid. E.Bodies are still good, of course, and D.Rings, but going to those camps when Fafnir is so botted and KB has an abysmal drop rate feels like a waste of time to me, personally. Anyway, we're derailing - we should find another thread to argue in.

I do salvage every day with 6 people and I've co-tank all four chariot with ridill and GA, and I can tell you I have yet to be ass reamed by ridill. It's just you running your mouth without any experience on the subject again. Anyone that's telling you ridill can get you ass reamed on chariot is someone that goes to salvage with 18 people and is putting 16 melees on it. But keep trying to downplay Ridill every time you post, you might just become stupid and stubborn like me.

P.S: I read that Hauteclaire sucks cause you're blinking 90% of the damage.

If you can't cap CE using either Macuahuitl+1 or Hauteclaire then you need to log out and uninstall the game.

How do you kill Arrapago boss without shadows? That must be a lot of healing or getting lucky with him not using his special move. I've only seen people get curbstomped when their shadows are down on him and he uses it.

Have you ever even been hit with Mortal Revolution? <_> You talk like it does 1k or something. It only does 350-400 unless you have something silly like Berserk or Counterstance on. It's HEAVILY based on defense, and with unlocked gear and stuff like Ares's Cuirass it's not really any worse than any normal WS, except that you're stunned for a few seconds after. Actually, I'd probably rather get hit with Mortal Revolution than Discharge. Getting a Third Eye paralyzed sucks.

Always sends me to the floor on my thief. Usually see my monks take way more damage than that, even without counterstance.

The most I can recall getting hit with personally is like 600 with Berserk on. I've seen it do 800 or so on a MNK with Counterstance but without Berserk or Counterstance on it tends to do 350-400 to me, about 400-500 on a MNK. Like I said, the difference made by unlocked gear, a Congestus Cell, and Protect is huge on Mortal Revolution, kinda like Tourbillion. Fully buffed as a PLD, Tourbillion is like 600 damage, but I've also seen it score 1,300 or so to a PLD who was brand new on the field, probably lacking Protect and a Taco.

I personally find it curious that defense can sometimes shave a physical AoE by as much as 50%, but a full Koenig PLD only takes about 50 less damage from normal hits than his neighbor wearing enmity and haste gear. <_> Yay for stupid balancing!

*EDIT* Typically I use DRK for Zhayolm (for stuns and DoTs on Frogs), DRG for Silver Seas (due to piercing bonus on clearing Gears for GG3 and the fact that LAC is piss easy), and WAR for Bhaflau and Arrapago. Sometimes I bring DRK to Arrapago if we're doing Bhoot and don't have another stunner.

My WAR Salvage set (no buffs/food, obviously):

Needs more Askar hands. @_@ Note also that it does have a lot of defense and VIT. Not that I'm trying for that, it's just a helpful byproduct of some of that gear. (P.S., lolimpulse drive)

    Also:

Starting a fight off like this is nice because it helps your MNK(s) go through Hundred Fists without worrying about spending time casting shadows. ;D

(first and last were 300%, MS, Berserk, Agg, Minuet x2, no double attack, middle one was full buffs including Soul Voice at 300% and double attack)

*EDIT AGAIN* That's a Suppa, ignore the AGI+2. It should be an Ethereal Earring. Fucking same model bullshit.

Your negative opinion about Ridill is a bit scewed. In the hands of a great WAR deserving of it, you can do just fine ME/Ridill on HNMs. Granted I realize you won't be dishing out the same #s as you will /SAM using a Great Axe but you'll hold your own. Their's nothing wrong with going ME/Ridill if you need to /NIN.

Sure, if you need to /NIN. I never said it wasn't the best dual-wielding option (and if for some reason I WAS on WAR/NIN, I would dual-wield over using a Great Axe), but the commanding part of that statement is that it is the best dual-wielding option, not best overall.

I can't deny that I'd like to have one, but it'd be more for DRK zerging and town gear (Hauteclaire/Ridill for the win) than utility on my WAR.

Honestly, /SAM for me is tough to get away with in most situations. My merits are capped and my build is strong. TeS doesn't seem to cut it most of the time. I have to do some MAJOR holding back whenever /SAM. Being Taru doesn't help either. I have lots of experience on it (have been using it forever) and it's still tough to manage most of the time.
