So did they have Paul kick the bucket then? He seemed to be getting fairly old in 3/4, but Heihachi stayed around for a long time...

Edit: Just read the storylines from tekken 4/5/6 and lol, they're really keeping the family in it all. It seems pretty silly at this point. However...there's no reason Paul Phoenix shouldn't have at least SOME screentime in a Tekken movie, being one of 4 fighters that have been in every Tekken it'd be stupid to leave him out of a movie completely (although I just watched the animated movie and he had a really small part there lol)

Lots of really bad choices on which characters to leave in and out (Leaving out Paul is unforgivable, though I get the feeling he's always been more popular in America then Japan for obvious reasons). The guy they have for Marduk is a good call though.

well, to make it into an hour and a half movie they most likely had to leave out alot of characters to make the story coherant. They could have just thrown in a few characters as just opponents, but they migth try and save most for a sequal(s)
though steve fox instead of paul...
and who is miguel? from 6?

I'm willing to bet that the entire movie will revolve around Jin and his rivalry with Kaz and Hei, he'll fight Kaz and Hei at the end, transform into DJ and then the credits will roll.

Everyone else will just be cannon fodder for the Mishimas until the final fight. Oh and I wouldn't be surprised if Christie or Xiayou were to fight Marduk and they'll beat him.

I doubt they'd overlook Paul, he's a staple character of the series despite the fact he'll never win a Tekken tournament.

I fricken HATED Eddie! I had a friend who would pick him then just push down and a and keep doing some gay somersault...and beat me...

Man, I hated when people had no "style" when they played fighting games, and just mashed as many buttons as one time as they could...


But good times with Tekken 3, my mom and I played that game for 13 hours straight once, we had blisters on our thumbs! Hahah.

Just a rule to younger kids : A family that plays Tekken together, stays together!

If i remember right, Xiayou was Jin's girlfriend I think.. or friend or at least just his schoolmate, so she may play some kind of role close to him.

Technically in the storyline he won the 3rd tournament, though after he left Ogre turned into True Ogre and it "continued" without him.

That was the whole point of Eddy. A button masher would always do something spectacular, like do 8 cartwheels, 10 backflips, spin around the earth 17 times, make the sun explode, and shoot legs and feet out their belly buttons while beating you up in the process. I swear people who "knew what they were doing" with Eddy were way easier to beat than the button mashers. When I first started playing tekken, I couldn't beat an Eddy button masher even with my favorite characters.
